Devils 3 v Hurricanes 2 - The Henridemption Edition

Ok, Gulitti

Henrik Lundqvist is pronounced "Hen-rick"

Adam Henrique is pronounced "Hen-reek"

Don't blame Devils fans for pronouncing our players name correct.

Great team effort. Nobody stuck out because the whole team played very well.

Everyone is on Tedenby's nuts. It's amazing how much instant gratification people here need and the amount of flavors of the month there are. The reason he didn't play in the 3rd was because DeBoer was being a good coach and didn't want anyone that could have been a liability defensively on the ice. I guess this means we should trade Tedenby because he is 21 and he isn't taking the world by storm. You guys may as well be Millbury.

Henrique is awesome. Didn't have his best game, but ups and downs are expected. Of course, he came up huge for us again late. In junior, and through his short stint here so far, he has always seemed like the type of player that thrives when the pressure is on.

I'm not on the trade Tedenby wagon, but he could benefit from playing in the AHL, getting more ice-time, and actually scoring.

I'd caution patience. Same exact things were being said of Palmieri for weeks, and of Larsson just last week (by a couple of folks, unbelievably). Watchm when Henrique hits a rough patch, same will be said of him.

Simply give Tedenby icetime selectively, and put him in positions to succeed, as DeBoer is doing now with Palmieri. No need to over-react (not pinning that on you), or do anything rash.

Team is winning and playing well. When it ain't broke, don't break it.

Yup. Tedenby is really the type of player that should be in the top 6, or in the AHL. Since he hasn't learned to play away from the puck well enough to be in the top 6, sorry to agree that he should probably go to Albany when Zajac gets back.

Awards:
Tedenby is much too good with the puck on his stick and along the boards, combined with his shot, to be writing him off.

Bring in Lemaire to do some one-on-one with him for a few weeks.

He was benched because he made a piss poor play where he turned over the puck that led to a chance when he had a simple play available to him.

You may as well be Nj1612 and his Kovalchuk love.

Tedenby has a future here, but he needs to score to get his confidence up, and he'll do that in the AHL where he will be when Travis comes back, and hell, maybe even when Boulton comes back.

That doesn't make people Tedenby haters, just doing what is best for the player and the team.

Yea tough stretch indeed. But we've fought through adversity so far. Hopefully we can keep it up.

Just wrapped up my meetings in NYC and sitting on a train grinning like a idiot. I cannot wait to see the highlights. I cannot wait to see this team with Zajac, Kovalchuk and Josefson clicking.

Thank you. Tedenby is slumping right now, and if he's still slumping when Zajac comes back, maybe he goes down. But until then, the effort is there and he has the talent, so keep putting him out there, keep him out there with skilled players, and keep him off the ice in critical situations (like late in the third period in this one). That's all.

I like how Carter covered for Tedenby defensively when Tedenby was knocked down in the first period.

Not getting on Tedenby, but the flavors of the month are just pleasant to have until Zajac gets back.

Henri-esque performance ! We were so much better, well deserved 2 points and a RT win!

But I think Zach needs Travis to score. I really think of

Parise - Zajac - ?
Kovalchuk - Henrique - ?
Zubrus - Elias - Sykora

Then you got Clarkson, Tedenby and Palmieri to put on the Parise and Kovy lines. Palmieri is really improving and I think he finds his game. Clarkson is not a top line player, but I think he can compliment each line in this league. So maybe this can work:

Parise - Zajac - Palmieri
Kovalchuk - Henrique - Clarkson
Zubrus - Elias - Sykora
Boulton - Carter - Mills

When Zajac is back, give Teddy some time in the AHL to find his game and work on his off-the-puck skills.

Can someone just tweet him that they are chanting just maybe because he freaking scored the go ahead goal with a few minutes left in the 3rd period?

There's no crazy justification behind it.

This team missing 3 key players and winning is a cool sign.
