Not sure if Noreau will make it.

Neither am I. I like the game he brings and all of his improvements, though. He's still a relative longshot but his stock is rising.

Sure doesn't sound like the Q has changed Stefan.

His bad attitude and dirty play is robbing on Cedric Paquette.

Love what Bouchard did, adding another game to his suspension. To be honest, we'd have a better record without him in the lineup. He has a long way to go.

But, if I were a Devils fan, I'd be thrilled right now. Matteau is just out there trying to kill people. Lamoriello must be prettym happy with the pick. He is very, very, VERY physical and has great offensive skills. I think he needs to pick up his fighting but other than that he definitely has Milan Monkey Lucic potential.

Matteau really isn't a fighter like Biggs was for the US team. He's a bit more of the dirty grinder profile.

Sounds like an exciting player. Plays with an edge and has the skill to go along with it. Will be interesting to see how he progresses.

Stefan Matteau

Would like to know what people think about he's game until now, Ppg pace, lots of hits, 2 suspensions and is impressing a lot of people with he's physical play/presence.

Many people said it was stupid for the Devils to use their pick on him, looks like he could be the real deal.

Just a little article from a journalist from BLB.

Most has been said about him on these boards. A very physical player that has a great frame and a solid wrister.

Since his last suspension, he's changed his game a bit. He used to go around trying to kill people. He's still playing on the edge, but he's been far more disciplined lately. Good coaching will help a player grow and this is what is happending right now in Boisbriand.

Like it's been said, Matteau has all the tools to be a power forward in the NHL. He has good wheels, will hit everything in sight, will play in the dirty areas and has a very nice, hard shot. He could be a player that makes a lot of noise at the Devils' camp next September, kinda like what Latendresse did with the Habs (almost made the team at 18, made it at 19).

I wish he would fight more, but then again, maybe it's the coaches telling him to stay out of the penalty box.

Josefson-Matteau-Clarkson
Carter-Gionta-Bernier

The fact that this could be our bottom six in a year or so makes me

Matteau is a lot more suited for the wing and has only played center for 3-4 games this season

Exactly, switch josefson with Matteau and you got a serious 3 line.

What line is Matteau currently on at BLB?

2nd line

Clapperton Paquette Roy - this line has great chemistry and has been producing constantly since last year's playoffs

Sanche Giroux Matteau - great mix of different players that can do a lot of damage

Hinds Hodhod Jevpalovs - very fast line that can cycle well and create offensive opportunities

Aquin Plouffe Martel - not a typical 4th line really, just so fast, intense and creative

He just keeps putting up points.

Hes averaging at about a PPG Pace currently in the Q. Plays a very physical game and can turn into a player that other teams hate to play against

I like the intensity but sometimes it's too much. He could cost us the President's cup. Obviously Halifax and Quebec are favorites because of the big names they have, but we have a balanced and deep team. We'll need Matteau when games will be intense, but sometimes he does too much.

You mean in terms of going over the edge? Or just penalties in general? Judging purely by the box scores he seems to have toned it down a little (meaning he hasn't been tossed in a couple games ).

Another goal for Matteau so far tonight

Anthony Stella (@AnthonyStelll) tweeted at 4:36 PM on Sun, Nov 25, 2012:
When Stefan Matteau turns his game on he's a top player. He controls the game and is a force. Just got his first of the game. #NJDevils

He's definitely coming along nicely. Could be our biggest piece in the playoffs.. I love his heavy shot

Whether he can find some control in the playoffs will be interesting to watch.
