That really sucks that Cullen is out, but don't we usually have some kind of illness sweep through the roster around this time each year? Hopefully the Gatorade bottles are laced with Vitamin C while Cully's sick.
Also, welcome back Big Bear, Terhaar is already giddy with excitement.
Setting the over/under mentions at 4.

It doesn't sound like Cullen's got the flu. It seems he was sent home to rest up and hopefully play tomorrow. If there's a chance he's healthy by tomorrow, it must be something a bit more minor, and hopefully less worrisome for the team's overall health.

Well, think he'll take a harding contract next year or something to prove he can still offer something if he can stay healthy? Ive got a feeling hes going to be taking a Crosby or Bouchard length break.
I think Bouchard will be back Saturday...optimistic but they didn't seem very worried.
i talked to someone who spoke with bouchard. doesn't look as bad as people are reporting. precautionary sit out cause it was a hard bonk and hard to tell what is "normal" pain from being rammed nose first into the boards and what might be a renewal of the C symptoms.
Sorry to hear that... I think this will end his Wild career... he's too injury prone to try to rely on in the long run.
Concussion you really cant predict or blame on him tho. But considering he comes back and just re-concusses himself I have to wonder if its a case of the spirit being a little too eager while the flesh still needs time to heal.

He was re-signed to a 2yr deal just prior to last season, then played barely any of it... now this year the same damn thing... I looked wrong earlier, thinking this was his 7th year.. but it's his 6th... maybe he gets one more shot?

Well, if he's willing to play for the minimum I think Fletch should give him a one year deal, cause he is a proven scorer when healthy. Hopefully this knock to the head makes him slow down his recovery process and do things right. So there's hope.
In the meantime we need someone to fill his and Seto's spot in the top 6 long term. I think we should recall Taffe. He did pretty well with Kapitan and The Turtleneck. We should also start testing the trade waters and see if we can get someone top-6 caliber somehow, without sacrificing future picks or prospects.

That being said, I think we have a couple of expendable prospects. One of Haula, Phillips, Zucker, Gustaffson bunch is bound to get traded.
Well... the Wild would have to offer Lats a 10% raise to keep his RFA status. It will be interesting to see how the Wild approach his situation with his known fragility.

With his injury history at this point do we need to keep him RFA? I say if he can get a better deal elsewhere we should let him take it. Its not like were starving for goal scorers next year.

If he was a UFA... I think for sure he'd be gone... RFA... they may qualify him just because he's an asset. They did it with Sheppard, and then traded him. Who knows, they may try the same with Lats.
Either way, I think his inability to stay in the lineup has got to make the Wild weary of keeping him long term.
I don't have a problem with keeping Lats around. if he goes down for the count on IR we call up a guy who might be ready but is starting in Houston because we lack space. Bulmer, maybe.
I like the idea of a one year deal and if he can stay in the line up we sign him to a longer deal and hope the trend continue. Not more than 2-3 years tho.

I think if he gets anything from the Wild now... it would be only a 1yr deal for him to prove he can stay healthy.
It's really too bad about Latendresse. Really like him as a player. Just terrible, terrible luck.
I've said many, many times that the Wild should go after Parise for that top-6 LW spot. If you strike out on him, then you can have the discussion about Lats. But if you sign Parise, I think you'd have to think about letting Latendresse go.
PS - Soooo many damn concussions. Players are just so damn fast and strong these days. Honestly, the NHL players need to get full cages.
