It has been 26 years and I still remember how stunned I was when I got the call. It was like I lost a family member. He was such a wonder person and I had the pleasure to have talked to him while I was working at Kings Grant. He was such a down to earth guy. I was a season ticket holder at the time and when we went to the game where they had the memorial service for Pelle the ticket by chance had Pelle on it. They did not tear the tickets just marked the back. There were many tears shed that night. He is still my second favorite goalie behind Bernie. I really felt that if he had not passed away we could have won Lord Stanley. How many times? Who knows.
I to would like to see 31 up there.

RIP PELLE

I just watched the video and words cannot do it any justice.

Fun fact, he was the first goalie to have a bottle on the net. Glen Sather was opposed saying what's next, a bucket of chicken on the net?

Great goaltender, great person.

RIP

i never saw a goalie drop to his pads and get back to his skates so quickly and still have not.

i still remember waking up and watching the news that morning and thinking he would be OK somehow.

One of the last old school type netminder's of his day......Loved the old school mask, pads, waffle board and glove.....Today's modern butterfly goalies are BORING and have no sense of style like Pelle and his mentor Bernard Marcell Parent....Really a very sad day when i learned of his passing, while i stationed overseas in the Air Force.

Only if its Brodeur playing

Also watching the game that CSN showed last night of him.. I wish games were more like that.. Its nice seeing the boards not cluttered with ads
