Hypothetical: Chara

I'm sure there's been a thread made about this before, but in my defense I spend most of my time on the main board.

Is there anyone in the league who you think could get the best of Chara? Before he retired, I think Laraque could have taken him (their fight Chara just threw him to the ground because I think he knew this).

In today's NHL can you think of anyone who could take this monster?

Assuming Chara actually tries to fight and doesn't just drag his opponent to the ground?

Chara isn't that great of a fighter, he just happens to be huge. Any heavyweight in this league has a solid chance of beating him if it stays on the feet for more than 5 seconds.

Chara doesn't have the balance to go along with his strength. Chances are if he doesn't drop you within 5 seconds he falls down.

Chara is one of the goofiest fighters in the league, no balance at all. However, I don't think anyone will put him down, ever, he's just too big and too strong.

Chara is probably equally strong but likely has more endurance than Lucic

either of these two angered are quite formidable

probably have to be 6'4 minimum to. If he wasn't allowed to wrestle then guys like MacIntyre, Gilles, Godard etc could probably beat him.

I think Boogaard would have been able to handle him quite easily.

No, I'd think Chara's significantly stronger.

I honestly think Chara is the strongest NHL player ever. Nobody can match is strength, but Lucic, due to his boxing background, has very fast hands, and is also very strong. If he could keep Chara from grabbing him, he'd stand a decent chance against him. Really depends if Lucic could hit Chara on the chin before Chara huggy beared him.

John Scott would, easily. He's a monster too, but he'll punch him down, not wrestle him like Chara does.

It depends. If Chara is angry he'll try to punch and he could definitely lose his balance and lose a fight that way (although he can also **** you up by punching). If Chara isn't angry, he'll try to get in a few punches before starting to lose his balance and then he'll switch over to wrestling, so he'll never lose that way, but he won't have any highlight reel fights either.

Um, Godard, Mac, Mcgrattan, and Scott for sure.

Westgarth, Neil, King, Boulton, Carkner, M. Kassian, Engelland, Ivanans, Gillies and Orr, maybe.

Bam Bam, Leblond, Hordichuk, Parros, Erskine, Barch, Shelley, Mclaren, Mashinter, Biz, Mccormick,
Rosehill, no to maybe a long shot..

Rupp for sure a no.

If Chara didnt have reach and insane strength he would be another Hal Gill. The guy has horrible fighting skills overall. Anytime he fights a player who can beat him he goes for the take down right away. As for the Koci fight, Koci was one of the worst fighters to ever enter the league.

Again, it depends. Are you referring to WARRIOR MODE Chara (Check other Chara fight thread for description of this)???

If you ARE referring to WM Chara then no, no one can can take him down or stands a chance.
