Panthers forward Scottie Upshall left the game early in the first period with a "sore core" and is doubtful for Sunday's home game against Philadelphia.
Sidelined Panthers forward Mikael Samuelsson, who was part of the David Booth trade, has been working out at Saveology.com Iceplex to rehab his core issues, but isn't ready to play yet. Dineen said he will probably call up a forward from San Antonio on Saturday. …
im starting to think the upshall contract might be a problem. he has sucked. i think dadanov should come up because it is a to 6 spot.
I agree with what you are saiying, I think he has been disappointing and was one of the contracts I wasn't too keen on when it was signed (along with Jovocop's). I would like it if Dadonov came up because he showed he could score points in the NHL last year so want to see if he could do it again this year. But I think it is more likely that we will shift the lines and bring up someone like Kennedy again.
it's still early. i'll stand by upshall, he's a good player, just a little snake-bitten right now as far as scoring goals. he's brought everything else, except finishing....and i think it'll come eventually.
he's a very effective forchecker because of his speed and tenacity/hustle, great along the boards and a great physical presence. has laid a boom quite a few times already. he brings a ton of energy. once the goals start coming, people will learn to love him i think. i have no problem with this signing at all so far, the only thing missing are the goals (he's never going to get assists, he's very booth-esque in regards to his playmaking...tunnel vision.)
I really would rather see Dadonov called up. He adds more skill to the lineup than Kennedy, and would slot in well on either the 2nd or 3rd line. We have our Kennedy's in the lineup, which is our 4th line, so no point in bringing up a less talented player.
Good to hear that: he is who I wanted to be called up. Let's hope he takes this opportunity to show his talent and prove that he deserves to be in the NHL. Although that can be hard to do if he only gets one game to do so.
Good! Im glad its him over Kennedy. Hopefully he can show that his skill can be useful to the club. It doesnt really matter though, because he will probably be one of the two sent down when Samuelsson gets going.
I like this line. Santorelli seems like he's getting back into the groove of things and Kopecky is becoming one of my favorite players. Could be a great balance of skill and grit.
I went to the practice today at Pines Ice and Sturm was practicing with Santorelli and Kopecky and Bergenheim was moved up to the third line with skille and goc. It seems like whoever was going to be called in was going to be on that 4th line.
