Rinne is going to want long term, anywhere from 5-10 years. He wants to be secure like Bryzgalov. But after seeing the result of signing a goalie long term I think Lou will be more hesitant to sign a guy like Rinne, which will lead him to sign Vokoun to 2-3 years.

There are few goalies in history who I would sign to a long term deal. We have one of them already, the rest are long retired.

I'd have no problem signing Rinne to a 5-7 year deal

Me neither. He would make a good cornerstone of a franchise.

And that's why Nashville will make sure he doesn't go anywhere. I've said it in the past, I think they'll sign one of their blueliners and Rinne.

I would like to see us go after Vokoun. If he stays in Washington, I'd like to try and trade for Holtby. We only need a goalie for 1-2 years while Kinkaid, Clermont and Wedge get their game polished for the NHL.

Giving serious $ and years to a goalie is the worst idea ever.

You and I must be the only people who are aware of Bryzgalov's performance thus far.

Without Zach signed we will have around $22,804,166 in cap space. I think Zach signs for similar to what he did this year or slightly more, so $6-$7 mil. That gives us about 15,804,166 for 4 forward spots, 1 defenseman, and 1 goalie.

FORWARDS
Ilya Kovalchuk ($6.666m) / Patrik Elias ($6.000m) / Travis Zajac ($3.887m)
Dainius Zubrus ($3.400m) / David Clarkson ($2.666m) / Jacob Josefson ($0.900m)
Mattias Tedenby ($0.875m) / Adam Henrique ($0.854m) / Eric Boulton ($0.662m)

DEFENSEMEN
Anton Volchenkov ($4.250m) / Henrik Tallinder ($3.375m)
Andy Greene ($3.000m) / Adam Larsson ($0.925m)
Mark Fayne ($0.610m) / Alexander Urbom ($0.856m)

GOALTENDERS
Keith Kinkaid ($0.900m)

BUYOUTS: Colin White ($1.000m) / Trent Hunter ($0.666m)

CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter)
(these totals are compiled without the bonus cushion)
SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $41,495,834; BONUSES: $807,500
CAP SPACE (16-man roster): $22,804,166

Other interesting UFA's: John-Michael Liles, Niklas Kronwall, Shane Doan, Ales Hemsky, Brad Boyes, and Tuomo Ruutu.
