It would be a huge sell in Ottawa, and we should be a playoff next year so we might as well embrace it and not be afraid to say it.

So, Andersson has been officially thrown under the proverbial bus?

Foligno-Smith-Silfverberg

Phillips-Rundblad
Boroweicki-Karlsson
Cowen-Boychuk

Apparently.

He's going through a rough patch. But so are other "elite" goalies like Ryan Miller, Roberto Luongo, Jonas Hiller, the 9 Million Dollar Man Ilya Bryzgalov, and Jaroslav Halak.

People last night were shredding him, calling him a guy who got his contract and now doesn't care...a career backup...I mean wow. Talk about a fanbase that is "what have you done for me lately?"

Last year, these same mouth-breathers were demanding that Murray lock him up for 10 years at $5 million per based on his play down the stretch.

Count me on the "I believe that Anderson will work his way through this" bandwagon.

Count me on the "It's just a rough patch. The bi-polar nature of this board is irritating," group.

Gonchar took a shot off the side of his foot late in the game. Is it possible that this is the reason Lee might draw in? Although Rundblad made a few defensive gaffs and took risky chances as a rookie he gets a free pass in my book. I'm all for letting him play every game if he's up to it. It didn't seem possible but he's even more offensively minded than Karlsson. I can't wait to see this guy play later this season and the next.

Anyone hear anything more on Gonchar?

Me too, if they have to keep taking him in and out though they may as well send him to the A. Not saying do it now, but if they aren't satisfied with his play to have him playing regularly they may as well send him down for a bit when Carkner is back....if Rundblad proves to be ready to come back...look for an option to move Lee in the mean time.

Very optimistic & it's nice to see that some are not giving up on Filatov even though he has yet to do anything at the NHL level.

I agree with eight defencemen the easiest thing to do is send Rundblad to Bingo. I assume that eventually something will happen with Kuba or Lee but it's just as possible that Murray waits until closer to the deadline when Kuba's salary is more affordable for some team if Murray doesn't want any salary back & only wants picks.

I think they should send him down for 10 games or so just so he can get the icetime. It would be great for him.

Like I said I don't really care if they do it right now or not, but if it keeps up I'd say they definitely should.

Say what you will, but their has been a defensive drop off with Lee and Carkner out. Compare last year to this year, not near as many mistakes imo.

Lineups in the first post are helpful for my bad puns. Just sayin'.

Can we pin last night's loss on anything other than Schenn-tle play and no grittiness? Sure. We could say the seats in the locker rooms had no Lombardi support. We could blame the Gardiners at HSBC. But the upshot of it is, we got blown out last night. It Steckel hurts, but we've got a mission here. Operation: Beat the Leafs is a go. The Sens will be Crabb-y after that loss, and the Leafs don't exactly have a front-line Gunnarson, unless you count Kessel (which I don't.) Meanwhile, Michalek is racking up points faster than an Air Liles card. The Leafs will be Scrivens to distraction and the Sens will Grabovski the two points. That will be a very cool way to start the weekend. VERY Kulemin.

Just win, baby.

My deepest apologies.

While i was away on vacation a couple weeks ago, the senators went on a 6 game winning streak.
Since i've been back and started watching again, they haven't won a game.

I'm going to watch tonight anyway. I have a good feeling about tonight and will pass along my positive vibes.

Prediction: Mr. Anderson will decode tonight
