Tough for me to healthy scratch Kaleta, as my one complaint -- and it was a minor one -- was that they were a bit soft. That said, hard for me to bench anyone else. McCormick or Boyes I suppose depending on who the opponent is.

Vanek - Adam - Pomineville
Leino - Roy - Stafford
Gerbe - Gaustad - Boyes
McCormick - Hecht - Kaleta
ENNIS

Ennis has sucked this season so far.... So there's no spot for him on a healthy roster I think.....

You've gotta be kidding me. he's played 7 games. He's 20 years old you dont let a developing player rot in the press box

Ruff would let him rot. I swap out Kaleta/Cody in the first post and those would be my lines as well.

Ennis has to earn his roster spot again. I know that he is skilled but I don't wanna sit kaleta or McCormick in favour to him because without them we're so soft and teams like boston would kill us.

By that logic we should sit Leino too because he's not producing and doesnt provide grit

Leino now slowly starts to develope some chemestry with roy and stafford. I wouldn't put him out of the lineup at the moment.

the nhl is about speed and skill, you ice the most skilled roster you can

look at 05-06 sabres

Hecht - Briere - Pominville - Kotalik - connolly - drury - vanek - roy - afinogenov - dumont - ect..

you can't win if you don't score goals, you can't teach a grinder to score goals, but you can teach a scorer to grind

Ennis did too though. The problem was he only played 1 game with that line so the results arent on paper. But IIRC they had great chemistry and had a number of chances.

You cant take a skilled player like Ennis out of the lineup on such a small sample size without even giving him a chance to find his groove. 50 points in your rookie year isnt easy to do

Boyes? If he keeps up his recent play there is no way he gets benched on any team in the league. Loved him against Ottawa f.e.

Can't say what my lines would be. I don't know who should sit for Ennis at the moment. Looking at our first 3 lines they look perfectly fine to me as they are.
Eventually someone will get hurt again so this is hypothetical anyway...

I doubt we ever see a fully healthy team.

Players get hurt all the time and by the time Hecht is back in the lineup we will probably have another player or two out of the lineup.

That's just the NHL for ya.

Benching Ennis? Oy. Small sample size, anyone? He goes in as soon as he is ready.

I leave the current top 9 intact. With the way they're playing, there is no reason to break them up.

Vanek/Adam/Pommer
Leino/Roy/Stafford
Gerbe/Goose/Boyes

Ennis/Hecht/Kaleta

The guys on the nominal 4th line need to earn ice time.

Im going with..

Vanek - Adam - Poms
Leino - Roy - Stafford
Gerbe - Gaustad - Kaleta
Ennis - Hecht - Boyes

The 3rd and 4th line can fight for most minutes. We really dont have a 4th line.

Problem is in the playoffs, I would like McCormick and Ellis in the lineup. So this is a regular season lineup.

A healthy Ennis changes everything - I would much rather have a healthy, struggling Ennis on the ice than Kaleta & McCormick at the same time... these 2 (#36 & #8) guys bring the same thing to the party, and it isn't offense - anyone talking about benching "mini tyler" for bottom-6 grit needs to wake up a bit. The Sabres generally roll 4 even lines anyhow, so 4th line is kinda irrelivent IMO.

1. #26 Vanek [A] - #72 Adam - #29 Pominville [C]
2. #23 Leino - #9 Roy [A] - #21 Stafford [A]
3a. #42 Gerbe - #28 Gaustad - #22 Boyes
3b. #63 Ennis - #55 Hecht -
#36 Kaleta/#8 McCormick
X. #36 Kaleta/#8 McCormick - #37 Ellis - #78 Tropp

1. #24 Regehr - #57 Myers
2. #10 Ehrhoff - #44 Sekera
3. #3 Leopold - #6 Weber

X. #17 Gragnani

1. Miller
2. Enroth

well i don't think we were pushed around. I also thought that gaustad-kaleta and mccormick were some of our more effective players.

Call me crazy, but fully healthy I do this...

Vanek-Pominville-Boyes (works on the PP, bring it to even strength and see how it goes)

Leino-Roy-Stafford (just got going, don't let it go now)

Ennis-Adam-Gerbe (3 past AHL ROY's could form a nice line with Ennis' playmaking, Adam's front net presence, and Gerbe's persistence and timely ability to put pucks in the net)

Hecht-Gaustad-Kaleta- A defensively responsible unit, that can play important minutes in our own zone.

I'll give you credit for giving reasons, but I'm not sure I'd see how these work.

Both Ennis and Gerbe are LW. GGB has worked well. Pominville, while he's been doing well at draws and could essentially be a center on this team, is not a center. I don't seen anything wrong with the 2nd and 4th lines, but I would keep GGB (or GGK) together.

Vanek-Adam-Pomminville
Ennis/Leino-Roy-Stafford
Gerbe-Gaustad-Boyes
Hecht-McCormick-Kaleta
