If you read this thread without watching the game you'd never realize the Habs have outshot them and had the majority of puck possession.

Very true. They haven't drafted a ton more offensive talent than us in recent years but did get some gems and then their future was brightened when Burke came along and handed them three future prospects for Kessel. We've just let go way more of it than they did (Sergei, Grabo, Lats, Dagostini, Ribeiro). I'd love it if we were built like the Bruins, minus the insane goonery that they seem to pull at times.

That was a very, very, very bad deal. When the Habs don't like a player, they literally give them away.

Sergei was in the minors while Pyatt and Pouillot were getting top line minutes.

It has been, yet this topic makes it sound like we are the worst team in the NHL.

Everyone seems to forget that the Preds are also a defense first team.

True enough. Comments aren't accurately reflecting the game. We work hard but no finish and we don't have Mike Smith to whiff tonight. It's Pekka Rinne, maybe the league's best goalie. Goals don't come easy tonight and we have our standard 1 goal.

It's a Western conference team, JM's certainly not the first nor the last to do this.

Nashville is a good team and a place where we usually lose so it's not a displeasing showing thus far. And making me happier than that is seeing Ottawa beating the Leafs (though it'd keep us in last in the division but with 2 games in hand) and hey even seeing Pittsburgh losing is good too. Oh well, gotta hold on to something right?
