Gloucester Rangers dressed 8 Dmen? Maybe they had a plan since their back end is so poor that they put a third Dman on as a winger and try and prevent the other team from scoring? Maybe they found something! They beat Kanata tonight. Why so many call ups also?
Who were the 6 call ups? I see the backup goalie (Blair) and Doucet but that's it.
The Recorder article has the Brockville coach alleging that the fights were staged by the Kings further stating ,"It was so obvious he (Pembroke coach Sheldon Keefe) was sending guys out there," said Hawkins."
Anybody who attended the game able to add comments?
Anybody who watches even one of these games would know that if these fights were staged by the PLK, it would NOT be Brandon Gagne or Lucas Gonu. It's a ridiculous reach on the part of the Braves' coach.

Hawkins is funny.
One of his players (Windsor) was trying to goon it up at the end of the Nepean game last Friday. He should be quiet.

When i posted , it said that ST.Georege , snedden , oneil , doelman and molinski were in the lineup for gloucester . no matter what , kanata is just 1 point ahead of the team in 9th.

The first fight was the result of stick work on Gagne who took action into his own hands as they was really know calls beeing called. The 2nd fight was I believe just a results of the first fight as temper where boiling over. The fights in the third period was result of the Braves taking liberties on Gagne. When they line up at the face-off Gonu was talking to the player and they where discussing what was going to happen and at the face-off the Brockville player turtle pretty much right away then the Braves player jumped in which I feel is much worse than stage fights. The last fight was a result of the of the Braves player jumping into the fight. Sometimes a message needs to be sent if you are taking liberties with the offensive player. For every action there's a reaction.[/QUOTE]
Are you watching the same game? must be a pemby fan..... Anyone at that game could hear Sheldon Keefe telling his players which guys to go after. The Brockville player being jumped from behind, and not wanting to fight is worse than a staged fight?? jesus....give me a break.....I am not sure which game you watched..... but when a guy drops his gloves and jumps a player from behind who has no interest in fighting, i call that dirty. Those refs missed ALOT of calls, and not just on one side.... the refs are terrible in this league.
Regardless of whether or not the allegations are true from the Braves/Lumberkings game on Sunday I do not believe that it was correct for a head coach to allow it to end up in the media, all it does is fuel the fire.

Agreed, and apparently that is a fine worthy offence from the league.....that was not classy on the part of Hawkins. made him look like a huge whiner.... but he was correct in his statement.
If Dupuis' injury is anything more than a "mcl sprain" expect a goaltender to be moved to Pembroke. Only problem, nothing much out there in terms of available goalies right now.
maybe as bad as kemptville is they do have 2 goalies that have played well in wilkins and mulder, or perhaps brindamour from nepean...seems likely he would get a goalie out of league

Not disagreeing with the previous poster but another name to consider is Cumberland's P. Martin who has the league leading save %age @ .923. Also, was Martin not Clarence's goalie last season when they won the local Jr B championship?
from what i heard, what lead to the mayhem in the third period was the brockville player jumping pembrokes best player gagne at the end of the second period but gagne ended up dropping his gloves after taking a punch, and the plk replied to that in the way they should in junior hockey. i was told that chartrain also took a run at plk goalie matt gagne after the fights... makes it sound likebrockville wasnt so innocent to me. hawkins will get better with the media as he gains experience as a head coach, mcinnis in cornwall and sk in pembroke handle media very professionaly compared to hawkins. reading the pembroke paper to see if sk commented on the game and saw at the end of the article that Dupuis should be back by next week so i doubt that sk will be in the looks to give up alot to get a starting goalie that would most likely sit behind dupuis more then he would play.

I would doubt Cumberland would let Martin go, he still has another season and they are only 1 point out of a play-off spot, plus he has 8 of their 10 wins to date.
If you can take in the CP game in Nepean tonight worth the trip. Probably one of the best games (on paper) to see since a long time! 3-2 Nepean in OT
Should be a good one, would not miss it. A lot will depend upon number of penalty calls, if Raiders get a lot of PP's they may win, I see CP as stronger 5 on 5.

What an ugly situation unfolding in Kanata and the FPC. The league must be getting pretty nervous....
Well I think the league should choose where the FPC should be not the owners and man. Was a Kanada game last week and if there was 100-125 fans I would be surpriced. Only team family and freinds. How can you have a big event with little fans it would look bad for the teams that made it.I'm shore they would like some fans to play in front of.Anyone no how many tickets are sold not counting the freebees.

Understand your train of thought. League should keep an eye on it, but must have as much info before taking it away. Not sure how much more time can elapse before a decision will or must be made. No matter what, some feathers will be ruffled! It must be handled in a delicate manner to uphold the interity of league.
Have heard from two reliable sources that Gloucester sold to CIHA and is moving to Rockland subject to league approval. Has anyone else heard same thing?
This rumour was floating around last year. If it is true, its a smart move by CIHA and Jennings. Having your own Tier 1 junior team and a great facility would be a huge drawing card for the academy. Jennings learned the hard way that Jr hockey in the city wont work.
I hope it happens...its the right thing for the league.

I believe the "league" is composed solely of the owners. The prez and others are merely employees. So if the "league" decides, it is the same 12 guys who attended the meeting in Brockville when it was voted on and Kanata was selected.
With regards to ticket sales, I am hoping everyone on here who is questioning the status of Kanata has at least purchased their ticket package for the FPC.
Me Me
I would think there would be more games at the fred page cup partly because its championship hockey aslo there are no other chl games going. As for moving its thats a gamble you don't want the league to look bad and the longer they wait the harder it will be for them to move it now with that said the only place that i could see is maybe move it to nepean.
