Wow, Shanahan's a joke.

All things considered, I'd say we Sabres fans should be relieved Miller didn't pick up a 20 game suspension (following his concussion) for coming out of the crease to "hit" Lucic.

If Rieger is smart, he'll unload Boyes or some other "scorer" type, non-essential piece in exchange for someone who can contribute and isn't afraid to beat the living breath out of opposing players who beat on the Sabres top players. I've been watching Vanek get beat down all over the ice this season with no teammate willing to protect him or beat down the opposing teams' star players. It's getting old.

Shanny is probably looking at a 50 inch screen and has more angles than we do. It seems the Bruins are a protected team in the NHL right now.

really surprise there was no suspension... but then it's the boston bruins we are talking about.. chara almost killed someone, ryder elbow a guy in the head during the tampa series, horton threw something in the stand.. all got nothing.. then rome got kicked out of the playoff for hitting horton a few seconds late..

A few years ago I wouldn't be nearly as mad as I am now that this didn't receive a suspension. I agree in principle with Buffaloed that these types of hits are rare and even more rarely result in additional punishment but for all the chest pounding Shanahan did preseason and the sentences being handed out to repeat offenders (maybe he's never hit a goalie before but Lucic has been suspended before and no one has accused him of being squeaky clean), it's ****ing crazy that this didnt warrant some sort of response.

I'd love if the Sabres came out and pulled something along the lines of the response after the Neal hit on Drury but they should have done that on Saturday and I doubt when we see them next week, we'll do anything more than maybe challenge Lucic to a throwdown

I hope the shame of this stinks so badly in the Sabres locker room that they can't get it out of their clothes all year. And I hope it makes them mad.

Shanny just declared open season on Tim Thomas. Way to go, he would get at least 5 points if he was a HF poster.

"It's legal to run the goalie." - Brendan Shanahan Directer of "Player Safety".

Running the goalie is legal now. Is that clear enough?

The good thing about this is that Enroth can keep playing in net without all this concern

Why are Bruins exempt from punishment?

@reporterchris Shanahan unhappy with #sabres suggestion that it's open season on goalies. Called it "irresponsible."

it's not like buffalo is going to run a goalie anyway.

No further action, really?

**** you Shanahan.

I'm dying to see those tapes Jacobs has on the NHL higher-ups. We knew Colin's motivation was familial, but obviously the video footage of Bettman and Shanahan playing "Reverse Cowboy on a Bucking Stud" has bought Boston more immunity from persecution.

Wild fan coming in peace.

I have to say I was expecting at least 2 games out of this. Shanahan gave Bouchard 2 for a high stick earlier this season which I thought was ridiculous. This is far worse. Shanahan is becoming more and more like Campbell every day.

I like how Kaleta seems to be making it a point to go hard to the net anytime he has the puck...and not stop just because the goalie's there. I wonder if Ruff suggested that.

I guess that's why the NHL picked him.

"no intention" my ass!
Not gonna blow this out of proportion, but saying, it was without intention is just hypocritical

I am not quite sure how anyone can say he is a career underachiever..... Yeah a 22 year old who put up 30 goals last year and won the cup is a severe underachiever Its actually quite the opposite.... From a kid who had trouble making a junior squad to getting drafted in the 2nd round, to breaking into the lineup the next season... He has been an overachiever to this point...

I'm as angry at this as I ever was when a Hab got greased by the Bruins.

If someone runs over and kills a person in real life the judge doesn't let them off because "he didn't mean to".

I'm sorry but this is just horse ****. This ruling is almost as bad as the Chara/Pacioretty ruling was.

Someone is literally going to have to die before the NHL management gets its head out of its ass.

If Lucic got one game, how would you guys feel about it? I am not trolling, I wanted to know if you guys felt it should be over 5 games, or if you would be happy as long as he got something. Cheers.

Not to incite anything, but shouldn't everyone on this board be more upset at Cole for running into Enroth this evening? There was no reason to. Or are you only upset because of the injury caused?
