Strangely enough, they actually got us a goal with that call on Bogo.

Updated Standings: We have two more points than the Isles, but they have four games in hand.

Okay I waited to post this until the PGT.

Everyone is saying that Ramsay had no system last year and that Noel would be so much better for these guys with a system. I may be an idiot, but I don't see any system this year. The only thing that I see consistently, is passive passing on the boards that leads to nothing, instead of driving the net, and games with offense but no defense and others with defense but no offense.

How long does it take Noel to implement his "systems" if he hasn't already?

Jets look disinterested. We need some character players. Too many unskilled forwards. Even the guys who were good at the start of the season have disappeared.

Putrid. Pitiful. Pathetic.

They dialed it in tonight and went drinking. Undead zombies took their place.

It's the players. They seem to have no hockey IQ. Can never guess where the puck is going, when to drive to the net, when to pinch, how to take and give a pass... it's god aweful. Every forward player like Wheeler tonight.

I really think we have to throw Wellwood back onto the Antro / Burmi line - move Kane up with Ladd and Little and play one of them on the off-wing. Both the 2a and 2b lines are completely quiet now that Wellwood left the Antro line. Thoughts?

For some reason, Burmi has lost a step the last 2 or 3 games - just doesn't seem himself at the moment.

Really hope that Stuart is OK.

Ladd, Little and Wheeler brutal as usual. These guys are soft. Ladd needs to get his head out of his ass!

There's no inspired hockey right now. Only one person I could think of to blame for that. Five game losing streak and the schedule only gets harder. Next three; Tampa, Washington, Philly.

Maybe I'll wake up to some good news tomorrow. Maybe we will finally cut ties with Stapleton? Longshot?

Dump and chase without the speed or skill to win the race for the puck. We don't win enough 1 on 1 battles to play that style.

Bogosian getting 3rd star is nice to see. He was solid tonight, and certainly a bright spot thus far this season.

I think you're right.

Kane while he has tremendous individual skill is more of a shoot first pass second kind of guy. And with Burmi and Antro they now only have each other to pass to. They just look out of sync without Welly.

Wheeler can drop to the 3rd or 4th line for all I care right now, put Kane with Ladd and Little and see what happens.

The Jets are getting really hard to watch. Third straight game with zero effort. Disgraceful.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Kane is dynamic, for sure, but Wellwood, Antro and Burmi just seemed to click so much better as a line. I'd like to see it restored.

Team is going to be ripped by the media tomorrow and deservedly so.

Here's something that bothers me. Power play time this game:

Stapleton: 3:37
Little: 4:43
Ladd: 4:23
Wheeler: 2:01
Byfuglien: 6:25
Burmistrov: 1:21

Burmi gets no PP time.

That's not surprising. It's a disgrace but not surprising. What did Kane and Antro get? Of course Stapleton gets three and a half minutes on the point, a three and a half that produces nothing.

Isn't it ironic that our point fails to produce on the powerplay? Hint hint

With Kane and Ladd being "crashers", it might clear some space for Little to do his work. I watched many of the Thrashers games from last year, and both Ladd and Little are WAY better than what they're showing right now. Maybe Kane can help break that line out of their slump.

And I agree: Kane's style doesn't help Antro and Burmi much - the whole line just seems out of sync, and I'd rather have 3 players contributing like we had when Wellwood was on that line.

The system clearly involves:

- no tape-to-tape passing
- frequent turnovers and penalties
- inability to get the puck past the blue line
- make the opposition goalie look like he's worth $10m/season
- no shots on net during any PP time

At the start of the season Noel said players needed to earn PP time, so what has Ladd, Little, Wheeler and Stapleton done to earn PP time. Noel is a fraud.

Claude the fraud!
