Yes I am... Especially when you say "generous".

Where did I get X2? Read your name...

I'm bored...

I'd say I've got a better chance of winning the lottery then the team going 3-17-2. That would require the team to sink even lower. I'm not sure that's even possible. Yeah, we've all said our piece about how the team sucks, but the Wisniewski suspension/Carter injury/other things certainly contributed to the incredible level of suck we've seen to this point.

It's incredibly unlikely things go as badly as they have to this point. I'm not saying we'll see the Jackets rip off a 10 game win streak but at least give the team a little credit...

Carter hasn't been in the lineup since the third game, really, thats the only reason I was as optimistic as I was at 8-12-2.

Basically, its still not good enough, but there's no way this team is as bad all season as its record indicates now, we are still in prime position to draft in the lottery and possibly first overall though. There's no way this team can dig itself out of lottery position and at this point, I don't want it to....

Its too hard to predict, it all depends on which team shows up. I think this team is in trouble for road games where we dont get to dictate the matchup. At home, we play better, but that Jets/Jackets game was an exhibition of bad hockey, and we only managed to score 2 goals...shocker eh

I look at the schedule for the next 22 and I see maybe 3 or 4 wins. So again I think having 15 points at the end of the year is generous. I really don't see more than that with the current roster/coach.

In the next 22 games we play look at tell me which games you think we will win. Because I look at it and I see 3 games that are "winnable". Thats the 3 flames games. I have feeling we will beat the Habs but other than that. Those all should be losses. Some of them will be brutal.
So how's that 15 points by the end of the year working out for you? 17 points on 12/1. You only were off by an entire month. Pretty close.

Oh and a post from some random poster...

On a side note, the schedule for the rest of this month has plenty of possible points in it. I wouldn't be surprised if we are around your 15 point mark by the end of the month.
We were at.... wait for it.... 15 points at the end of the month...

And no, it's still not something to be proud of in case you feel the need to post that gem again.

Just poking at you, bb, and I agree that the original predictions of doom were a bit excessive.

What do you think?

I'll say 4-16-2 for 10 points and a whopping 17 total points by 12/31
I meant 12/1-

Although they could still go 0-fer the rest of the month so I'm not mathematically eliminated. Hopefully they add a bunch more.

I knew you were going to post something, ego is to large to not. Glad I could be the one to bug you.

I am not going to defend my 15 points by the end of the year.
17 points on 12/2 here we come playoffs!

Ill say it just because so you will leave me alone. I was wrong, you were right. Please forgive me.

If you knew me for a second, you would know it has nothing to do with ego. It's the comment like you have below is what annoys me.

I knew you were going to post something nonsensical like this. You pull the same crap as some of the other posters around here. You make it sound like I was giving some other impression than what I typed. Don't misrepresent what I am saying.

Once again if you knew me or read much around here, you would also know that I wouldn't "leave you alone".

This wasn't so much about right or wrong. It was to illustrate you had on the "OMFG, we suck" goggles. With those on you were not impartial enough to look at this team and see anything other than another 5 or 6 wins in a month and a half, despite the mounting evidence that it was unlikely to be the outcome.

I didn't even bother to point out some of the contradictions I saw with some of your other posts in other threads. I notice these things, but, despite what people think I ignore most of them.

Perhaps if you don't like people revisiting your predictions, posting in a predictions thread wasn't the best idea.

I have no problems with him revisiting. I was wrong he was right. I think that about sums it up.

I stated my case, he stated his. It is apparently an annoyance to have a off the wall negative prediction on the boards. I chalk it up as lesson learned.

Sure. One last question/comment. Where did I say we didn't suck? Hint: I didn't.

At any rate, should be interesting to see if we can get above that 22 point mark by the start of the new year. We are in fairly good shape to get there and my my prediction incorrect as well.

Darn, you missed what I illustrated was the annoying part.... Oh well, I tried.

Enjoy your stay. Do you have an updated prediction? It would be interesting to see what you came up with and how you came up with it.

I originally predicted 27 points at the New Year and would be pleasantly surprised at that total. Looking at the remaining schedule, I'm guessing 3 more wins and maybe an OTL loss, so I'm now guessing 24 points.

The team has 12 games to get 8 points for the 25 I predicted by the new year...

I don't think I was "cautiously optimistic" enough, 8 points in 12 games seems like something that is easily done, maybe even for this team.

The title infers BY the 31st, not by the new year, so taking out the Washington game on New Years Eve, this team has 8 (4 home, 4 road) games to get 5 points and hit the 25 point mark I predicted. Even with the the season going the way it has, thats certainly acheivable easily, even stumbling through this stretch should net them at least 5 points.

You inferred incorrectly; the title did not imply that the 31st didn't count. To me by the 31st means up till 12 a.m. on Jan 1, 2012. But because they will probably lose to the Caps on NYE it won't matter.
