Peckham is hurting this team. Give aways, lack of speed, penalties all costing us several goals.
I think you even missed his biggest weakness...he can't pass or skate the puck out of the zone...and it's been Chicago's game plan to key on that general weakness of the Oilers' back end. The only guys who can have looked bad tonight, precisely because Chicago's not giving them options: Petry, Potter and Gilbert have all made a bunch of giveaways because Chicago's forcing the puck to them and taking away their options.

Clumped that into give aways since his bad passing and decision making lead to lots.

I think they do more indirectly. He ALWAYS gives it to Petry or Potter and then those two have the opposition knowing it's coming to them, attack them, take away their options, and then THEY end up with the giveaway cuz their partner can't support them in any way moving forward.
Petry's one of our 4 best d-men. And by a wide margin over some of our bottom pairing guys. He just needs to get more sheltered minutes while he's improving instead of being thrown into the fire like they are doing.
But Peckham needs to be moved anywhere but the ice.
