I have no idea how JVR has 13 pts. He has looked like pure crap to me all year.

The only thing he really needs to work on is his finishing IMO. If he finished some of the easy chances he had in the first couple games of the season, he'd be challenging G for the lead in points on the team.

He could also stand to learn to shoot a little more than he currently does... but I'll take it
Voracek has been fantastic. He looks like he's starting to get it with regards to the intricacies of Laviolette's system. I mean, he's looking a lot like Justin Williams did when he broke out in Carolina.

Loving the trade with Columbus more and more. The dividends of the Columbus trade remind me of the Recchi to Montreal deal back in 1995 in which Desjardins was the main piece, but LeClair was the throw in. Well, with the Columbus deal, the first round pick was the main piece, but Voracek was the throw in. And what a throw in it's becoming.

This comment right here is one reason I would look @ trading Schenn + one of our current defensemen (Carle?) for a young stud defenseman...

I respect Schenn's talent immensely and I think he is a future star, but I don't want the chemistry of these forward lines to be affected / changed @ all. We look perfect offensively. If we tighten up on defense or acquire someone beastly on defense, we're the favorites to come out of the East IMO.

Briere is alone out there with simmonds and jvr doing absolutely nothing to help. When the time comes move schenn to that line and move simmonds on the 4th line.

4th line of simmonds couts and rinaldo would be sick.

I know I'm not the only one who wants to see Voracek-Giroux-Jagr. It's helped Hartnell a ton playing on the top line, but I can't help but think about V-G-J.

Read was favoring his leg as he went off the ice and onto the player's bench. Post-game, the report is he tweaked his knee but is fine.

I'd move JVR to the 4th line before I move Simmonds there tbh. I really don't know what the team will do once Schenn is back, someone will have their feeling hurts having to play on the 4th line.

Philadelphia Flyers problems

too many top 9 forwards

Maybe when schenn comes back move talbot to the fourth line?

Hartnell-Giroux-Jagr
Jvr-Briere-Read
Simmonds-Schenn-Voracek
Talbot-Couts-Nodl/Dirty Harry/Rinaldo/Shelley

the PP can be better. But they are still 11th even after they have tailed off the last half dozen games or so. This was a top 10 PP before this recent stretch of struggling on the PP. I think the PP will be fine.

Pronger out had a lot to do with the powerplay starting to struggle. Also I would like to see jagr moved a bit more, teams are keeping him under wraps while he sits in the high slot waiting for the one timer.

Im loving this line up... Perfect match of youth and age..
Ship out Schenn out for a solid D prospect like Dennis Savard or Jonathon Blum. Boom.
Win a cup. Retire Jagr's number..

Also, rewatching the game and i think my tv's color has been adjusted.. everyone looks too dark.. talbot looked like he was arab

Schenn should just be put in the Phantoms until an injury comes up

I'll take those two points, not the greatest 60 minutes played perhaps, but getting 5 out of this road trip is pretty decent.

Giroux had a great game. His shot is a lot better, and though he might not keep up this shooting percentage, I hope he won't stop shooting as much as he does now. He could perhaps even shoot a little more often. Pronger was a rock on defense as well. Those two were probably the best players in the game.

The JvR-Brière-Simmonds line had a bit of a rough game, though I think that Simmonds has looked better these past two games after being in a slump. Maybe switch Read and JvR? Read-Talbot-Voracek has looked pretty solid together though.

We have a damn fast team this year, btw. Read's goal was all speed by him and Voracek (and a damn nice feed from Voracek as well), and then we have Rinaldo and Zolnierczyk on the fourth line. Zolnierczyk really has some wheels.

in the daily times today lavy said the flyers " a full 120 minutes" the last 2 games. i know that we won the last 2 games and that we lead the conference now(by default the pens have just as many points) but yesterdays effort was hardly a full 60 minutes.they were lucky to get out of the second with the lead and were super sloppy with turnovers and "cute" passes. i'm happy that the flyers won and even happier that they sit atop the conference but they costantly give up big leads and get caught taking thier foot off the gas when they have a comfortable lead. i just don't want lavy or the team to think there isn't room for improvement. in the playoffs blown leads become losses.
