Burmi the All Star

Is there anyone out there that wants to join me in the write-in campaign for Alexander Burmistrov to be a part of the NHL All-Star Game this year?

Simply put, he is amazing and I think he should participate in this years event.

Even if he doesn't go this year, I'm sure he'll be a lock for it in years to come.

He's gotta a better chance of making the team than Ladd, Buff, or Enstrom...

Whomever comes up with these lists for vote-ins knows nothing about hockey. How is Crosby on there when he hasnt played a game in ten months?

Or in Minnesota's case, Zidlicky? Seriously?

Perhaps the ballots are created 2 years in advance?

The balloting is clearly done on player reputation and previous performance.

Antropov has been right up there with Burmi in my opinion. He makes things easier for Burmi when he's out there with him, not the other way around.

Buff?????, Ladd???

Wellwood could easily become the next Rory Fitzpatrick.

He's a journeyman, usually has among the lowest PIM in the league and generally seems like a nice guy. Plus he's already got the fat person vote

Agreed. Antropov has been every bit as effective as Burmi, just in a different manner. Both have great vision but where Burmi would stick-handle around a guy, Antropov would knock them over. Antropov doesn't get enough credit for what he's done so far this season. Admittedly, I hadn't seen Antropov play since he was with Toronto and my opinion of him going in to this season was not reflective of his current play. I believe that is the case for a lot of Jets fans.

Having said that, the All-Star game is all about flashy plays and puck handling. As far as entertainment value goes, Burmi should go ahead of Antropov IMO.

Byfuglien and Ladd? I can't tell if you're joking. Ladd doesn't have All-Star level offensive skill and Byfuglien already plays all out offense like every game is the All-Star game

good point. The All-Star game is all about selling the speed, and flash of the game. I just hope we don't end up sending Buffoon..that would be embarrassing.

Imagine....the worst dman in the league playing in the all-star game.

Ya, sorry, I was definitely making the point that they don't deserve to be in the game.

he is definitely our best player, but at this point he is only all star calibre because every team needs to be represented.

he will be all star calibre in the future, im pretty sure.

If the Jets continue to trend in the same direction we have seen over the last week, then the All Star nod should go to Pavelec. He is starting every game, incl. 7 for 7 on road trip where he faced 40+ shots in 3 of those games. Hell, he rebounded just fine from that goaltending clinic him and Bryz put on in Philly. He keeps up in every game and gives the team a chance to come back in the 3rd period each game after saving their butts for the first 40 minutes. Pavs is one solid dude.

The All-Star ballots always seem decided before the season, and they're a complete popularity contest. But this is just for the starters. I'm sure when the rest of the team is picked, Burmi will get more consideration if he's still playing well.

I definitely think this is a great idea. Every team needs an all-star and ours is definitely Burmi.

I put in my votes so far for him.

as well as he's played, im not sure you can have an all star goalie who in a 30 team league is ranked 44th in goals against and 40th in save percentage.

there are only 3 goalies in the entire NHL with a higher GAA.
