how good is ray emery expected to be?

should the sens look to trade for a goalie prospect who can some day be a future #1. or is that being held for emery?

i don't know much about the guy, and am not quite sold on prusek. with the lockout looming, who knows if hasek will ever even play a game in a sens uniform.

Touted to be our #1 franchise goalie, but I believe he still has some work to do before making the jump to the NHL.

Others can fill you in better I'm sure.

No, the sens should not trade for a goalie prospect. Emery is one of the best goalie prospects out there. Unless they can somehow get Fleury or Lehtonen (not going to happen), then there is no way you bother trying to get a goalie prospect because these are the only 2 that are really head and shoulders better than Emery. Emery is very, very good and will be our backbone a few years down the road. Just my opinion.

Goalies develop later than other position players. The fact that Emery has had good success at a young age (all-star games, all-rookie team, OHL goalie of the year) bodes well. Look at Kipper, it took him 3 years of back-up duty before emerging, and he is 28. Emery won't turn 22 until the end of September. I don't know if Emery will turn out to be a superstar goalie, but he definitely has a good future ahead of him.

I agree that Ray needs to stay in the system. He is indeed still young and can develope into sometyhing great. He is diffenently in the top 5 of great goalie prospects. The problem is as if the Sens decide to get rid of him. I hope not as he will be great.

Emery will be the starting goalie in three years.
He will be good.
And if anyone tries to fight him, he's shown that he'll knock any sucka out.
But hopefully he won't be looking to do that every other game.
Once he matures, he'll be up there in the top 10 in the league.
