Not really surprised with that, thought Cogliano has looked good on LW on the 2nd line so far, would be silly to break it up already.

So it seems RC doesn't touch the 2nd line...yet.

What about the Visa?

Pretty much the "don't fix it if it ain't broken" theme with the 2nd line. I think they've been pretty good with Cogliano.

Nice to have a guy like Hagman who can move up and down the lineup.

Lupul's playing pretty well in Toronto right now, and I think it's at LW. I think he spent some time at LW in Philly as well. So he theoretically can play LW.

He never succeeded at LW in Anaheim, but he wasn't ever really given a long time there to get used to it either.

Liked what Carrlyle pointed out - it`s good to have some veteran on our 3d line. When we look at our bottom 6 - we have a pretty large group of youngsters there. Guys with no NHL experience, and that`s why he can be a good fit for us.

I remember watching this guy play for Stars and I hated him!

He can score. I do think he should be playing on the 2nd line. I think he's better Cog's
and can put the puck in the net

This. I never really say anything but it pisses me off so much when Ducks fans say that Lupul didnt fit anywhere, or he wasnt working, etc.

Not only was he not given much time to succeed anywhere except on the 3rd line with no talent, he should have been given MORE time because of the injury he was coming off of. It's just plain stupid to expect Lupul to play better than he did in that amount of time. Guess what, after he's completely healed and settled in he's doing good, wow what a surprise.

Imo, he would have worked on either of the top lines at LW. And i forget which line it was one, but i definitely remember he started to gel with one of the lines in the brief time he got in the top 6.

I believe it was the second line. But that was like 6 points in like 18 games. or something.

Doubtful. Should be sometime within a week due to work visa issues.

He clearly didn't fit in with us the second time around. Don't give me that BS because he's having success with Toronto. We were stacked with RWs and we didn't have a spot for him. We tried him at LW on the top line for a little while before the back surgery, and he didn't do badly. Afterwards he was lost. His natural position was RW and you could easily tell. Even he said he needed a fresh start. If that doesn't scream "not a fit", what does? Right now he's doing well with Toronto, but don't think he would have had the same success here.

He put up 10 goals and 14 points in 23 games in 2009-10 playing a little bit on the third line but mostly with Getzlaf and Perry. He still managed 13 points in 26 games in 10-11 despite playing only on the third line with limited PP time.

Lupul's an incredibly streaker player. Those are pretty small sample sizes.

All Leafs guys will regress to average, if they haven't started already. Sometimes, I do really miss Lupul, though

Lupul is shooting at an 18% clip while his career average is 11.1%. Kessel is at 20.6 with a career of 10.8%. Toronto shoul enjoy it while they can and people should stop lamenting the trade.

“I thought it was going to be a comeback year [for him],” Selanne said. “He had a couple of real tough years. The way he’s been practicing and doing his stuff in the summer to get ready, I thought for sure it was going to be a comeback year. I don’t know how fair a chance he got in Calgary.

“He’s an unbelievable skater. Fast. Strong like a bull. Brings a lot of energy. And you know what? He can score goals. He has really good skills and sometimes doesn’t get enough credit. I believe it’s just a confidence thing. He’s going to be a big help for us.”
