And no, Paterno didn't **** anyone. He just made it easier for someone else to.

I can't help but be sad. The guy was a total hardass. Surely if he understood the extent of what was going on he'd have done more?

He didn't WANT to know the extent, and don't call me Shirley.

Knight was one step away from "the world would have been better off if we never found out about the molestations, because then Paterno wouldn't have been fired".

The whole thing was completely stomach-churning, but not surprising coming from someone who knows all about exploiting children.

Even before the horrible Sandusky situation was uncovered, I felt that Paterno had put his own interests (becoming the all-time wins leader) over the interests of Penn State. I personally felt that it had been a long time since he was anything more than a figurehead coach, earning wins while his assistants did most if not all of the actual coaching.

That he was willing to do the bare minimum about the Sandusky situation just showed how out of whack his priorities were.

It’s fairly clear the federal investigation into Penn State University won’t be a duplication of the grand jury probe that led to more than 50 counts of child sex abuse charges against Jerry Sandusky.

Instead, federal authorities seem to be stepping into areas where the state attorney general’s office hasn’t gone.

This time, they seem to be exploring the possibility of a cover-up at Penn State, as well as possible bribes, fraud, or misuse of federal money, according to three former federal prosecutors who were asked by The Patriot-News to independently review the subpoena Penn State received Feb. 2.

BELLEFONTE, Pa. (KABC) -- Opening statements began Monday morning in the child **** trial of former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.

Lead prosecutor Senior Deputy Attorney General Joseph McGettigan III said in court the 82-year-old Sandusky was a serial predator who took advantage of fatherless children or those with unstable home lives and sexually abused them for years.

McGettigan showed the jury of seven women and five men pictures of the accusers and said that prosecutors will attempt to prove that Sandusky was a pedophile whose activities took place "not over days, not over weeks, not even over months, but in some cases over years." He said prosecutors will show a pattern in which Sandusky groomed boys, gave them gifts and then abused them.
The trial has begun.

I'm not a LAWYER

But why would you testify

Nothing good can come out of you testifying and this is purely based on his Rock Center / NYT interviews.

Prosecutors want damning Sandusky interview footage NBC didn't air

Quote:
Accused Penn State pedophile Jerry Sandusky came off a lot creepier in that exclusive sitdown with NBC last November than anyone knew, but the Peacock Network oddly chose not to air what sounds a lot like an admission of guilt -- and now prosecutors want the whole transcript.

"I didn't go around seeking out every young person for sexual needs that I've helped," Sandusky told Costas in footage that never made the November airing.

The disturbing answer first came to light when NBC's "Today" show aired previously unseen transcripts last Tuesday. That prompted prosecutors from the Pennsylvania attorney general’s office to contact NBC lawyers on Friday to request that the network turn over and authenticate the entire transcript from the interview that was used to tape the segment that aired on the news program, “Rock Center with Brian Williams.”

The unaired segment includes a back-and-forth between Costas and Sandusky about his work with young people through his charity for troubled kids, the Second Mile.

according to True TV, the jury has the case of the now 48 counts of abuse and we may have a decision by the end of the day (god, I hope so) ... Sandusky had his attorney quote Mother Teresa ... one way or another this **** ends today.

I doubt we see a decision by the end of the day considering how many charges have been brought up.

If I had to guess, I would say we will see a good mix of guilty and not guilty verdicts in the case considering not only some of the charges have been thrown out but with the lack of physical evidence its coming down to the word of the accusers and only 1 witness he says he saw Sandusky in the shower with a boy.

1 guilty verdict here and the chances of Jerry dying in prison go up with each conviction he gets.

Reading these claims really annoys me. How someone can take advantage of young kids is sickening. Hopefully he goes to prison. Even the most hardcore of felons don't stand for this crap.

Jerry Sandusky Found Guilty on 45 of 48 counts

http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/20...ict-is-in?lite

Quote:
BELLEFONTE, Pa. — A verdict has been reached in the child sexual abuse trial of former Penn State University assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky, court officials said Friday night.

Sandusky, 68, the former longtime defensive coordinator at Penn State, denies all 48 counts alleging that he abused 10 boys over 15 years. Two grand jury reports accused him of having used his connection to one of the nation's premier college football programs to "groom" the boys, whom he met through his Second Mile charity for troubled children, for sexual relationships.
We will soon know the verdict on the charges.

Either 45 or 46 of 48 counts guilty (differing reports on twitter/CNN). Maximum of 442 years in prison.
