Do you think he's right back in next game?

Do you think he stays out if the team keeps winning and looking more defensively responsible as a whole?

Is he now in the mix of the Grags/Weber/Sekera mold of guys who can be benched at any given moment?

Does this tie at all into the notion of force-feeding Gragnani games-played to meet his threshhold?

I think he's back in for the next game.

From his comments, it doesn't seem like he fought the decision or didn't understand why it was made. I doubt Ruff sits him again right away.

1 game. He's back in Wed night.

I'll ignore that last sentence because the idea didn't make any sense when originally proposed, and certainly doesn't make sense today.

I think he'll be back wednesday and Grags takes a seat.. Though Ehrhoff could use a night in the pressbox

You clearly didn't ignore it.

You want to explain this, and not just vaguely leave an ambiguous comment about it not making sense?

Ideally, Myers in on Wednesday and MAG out. I think Myers is back in on Wednesday regardless of who comes out for him, but I could see Ruff benching Weber again.

I suspect Myers goes back in after his night off.

Once he shuffled up the D-pairs last night, it looks like it could be either Weber or Gragnani. Leo-Ehrhoff was the one pair that seems unlikely to have someone pulled out of the fray.

I'd be glad to in PM. I did originally in the tread on the subject and it created a crap show. Would rather not repeat.

I would like to see Sekera or MAG sit against NJ.

Myers isn't the only Dman that needs a wake up call.

Why Sekera? He's had a couple less than good games, but outside of Regehr he's been the most consistent defenseman.

He's brutalized a few plays recently, especially one of the ugly 2 on 1s versus Boston.

So you're going to pull him out of there right away? Rej has played confident all season. No reason to pull him out because of a couple lousy games. He's easily been this teams best defenseman (outside of Regehr, of course).

I'm sure Lindy did this as a wake up call for Myers. "Hey, you got paid, but you're not a guaranteed starter in this lineup anymore."

He should be back in for the next game, I think this was just a wake up call for him

WGR seemed to think Myers was used as the 7th defenseman in practice today...

I'm guessing it'll just be a game, maybe two. Not to say if he keeps playing the way he's been playing that it won't or shouldn't happen again.

We know what he's capable of. You don't play as well as he did for as long a period as he did, especially as a rookie, by accident. Him, like the majority of other players on this team lack confidence right now. I'm having trouble figuring that out though, I'm talking even before the Lucic ordeal....

If they play Gragnani then they want to keep him. If they want to keep him and they play him then they think he is or will be good.

If they don't think he is or will be good, then they won't want to keep him therefore they won't play him.

It doesn't make any sense to knowingly play an inferior player simply to keep his RFA status if you think he's inferior. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

I expect Myers in the lineup tomorrow, but it's not a sure thing. Not after how the goalie starts were handled a couple of weeks ago.

Well I should hope so, he has been one of Buffalo's better D men..

Yeah, no. Myers was also bad during the early part of last season. Which ridiculous narrative did you create back then?

I can't really tell with all the "hes" and "hims" in your post and the one you replied to, but I hope you're not referring to Gragnani.

Lindy likes to keep a winning line up together until they lose. I wouldn't be surprised if Myers didn't play tomorrow.

Pretty much every defenseman but Regehr has played poorly this season. You still have to dress 6 each night.

IMO, if they're dressing Gragnani in 16 of 17 games, then they think he's one of their 6 best defensemen (obvious conclusion). The idea that they're knowingly dressing a player who they don't think is a better fit than Weber simply to retain his RFA rights next offseason makes no sense. If they didn't like his play, then why should they care about keeping his rights (obvious inference)?

Players like him get traded for a 7th round pick at the deadline all the time. They potentially get a small asset in return for him even if Weber takes his regular spot in the lineup so he's not a wasted asset even if he ends up below the Group VI threshold.

It makes no sense that they would think Weber is a better player (or better fit) than Gragnani and then keep Weber in the press box. That would mean they're intentionally not putting their best lineup on the ice and Gragnani is not an important enough asset to do that.

OK? That doesn't make Gragnani "one of Buffalo's better D men," as the post I previously replied to states.

i have no issue with Tyler sitting against NJ...the 3rd period pairings played well together...Rej/Grags, Regehr/Weber, Leo/Ehrhoff. Curious to see if Lindy sticks with those, or goes back to the original pairings to start the game.

not a big deal to me either way, nobody was bad enough to warrant sitting imo.
