Kovalachuk is not skating on any of the four lines during the line rushes. He's mixed in with defensemen.

welp.

Well, that sucks. I guess it was worse than we were led to believe. Par for the course for the Devils.

the janssen hit is def not as bad as what lucic did, he at least tried to slide past him on the boards cause there was nowhere else to go. lucic had either side of miller to go to and didn't slow down or make any attempt to avoid contact.

lgd! just win please.

with the devils, it's never day to day, more like week to week with their training staff.

Kovalchuk and DeBoer are chatting at center ice right now.

Someone got a stream?

Devils working on the power play right now with Kovalchuk on the left point, Larsson at right point, Parise, Elias, Clarkson up front.

There's hope!

My guess is Kovalchuk is playing. He's on the left point on the power play with Larsson at the right pt. Clarkson, Parise, Elias up front.

TGfireandice Tom Gulitti
That Kovalchuk is practicing on the power play would seem to indicate that Devils intend for him to play tonight.

Well that's odd. I wonder why he wasn't part of the line rushes. Maybe DeBoer is trying to psych out the Bruins.

Well with DeBoer giving Sharky 4 minutes... Kovy is more valuable on JUST the PP.

Wouldn't surprise me too much, actually. Keep him at 8-12, mostly PP and offensive zone starts at ES, let him work the leg.

If he can do it, then do it. Better to have 10mins of Kovy than no Kovy at all.

I feel like if he plays, he will end up getting his usual absurd number of minutes, no matter what DeBoer intended to do to begin with.

No Kovie tonight:

TGfireandiceTom Gulitti

DeBoer said Kovalchuk won't play tonight

TGfireandiceTom Gulitti

DeBoer said if this were the playoffs, Kovalchuk would play, but they wanted him to go through some contact first, which he is doing now.

TGfireandiceTom Gulitti

DeBoer also admitted for first time that Kovalchuk has a groin injury.

Very smart. It's November. No sense rushing him at all you don't want him to tear it and miss months. lol at the last one- the worst kept secret in hockey that it was a groin...

Thank God. If he`s not 100% ready yet, he should not play at all. It`s regular season.

Told that DeBoer says he won't play, Kovalchuk says "he might change his mind after nap"

TGfireandice Tom Gulitti
Apparently DeBoer talked to Kovalchuk again after talking to media and now there is a chance Kovalchuk will play tonight

this hurts my head lol

to paraphrase....DeBoer: "There's no way in hell Kovie is playing tonight, but now that I thought of it lets keep the Bruins guessing"

If he plays tonight and gets hurt again and misses tomorrow's game, I will be pissed off, man.
