Horribly Horrible (EA NHL 2005)

Player Attributes. Even for all who don't play the game should witness how bad they are...

Compare Balej and LaRose for example.

I gave up on EA Sports a long time ago. They just got too big for their own good. There isn't a "perfect" choice yet, but the 2k series has long since passed EA by.

are u talking about nhl 2005 by ea sports, if so i was always happy with the game besides being able to score 10-15 goals on the hardest level, the graffixs are always good, its a realistic looking game, and when it comes out sept 21 i will buy it, but the nhl 2k5 i will check out to

i mean in nhl 20904 the goal scoring is high and the faces look funny on some players but i reallly thought it was pretty cool..

that one game they saw Larose play in (and based their stats on)...he must have been flying.

I think they just mixed up Larose's stats with Balej's. It's not the first time something like this has happened.

Jan Hlavac and Tom Poti's stats are impressive as well

hi

If ratings is all that can keep u away there's people around the web that fix ratings and add rookies and stuff - I downloaded someones patch on the web who had Martin St. Louis as like a 93 rating which he should be rather than an 84 or whatever it was in NHL 2004

Most sites and stores now have the game being released Sept 15th. Same day as sims 2 which also looks great.

I agree, EA isn't even an option for me anymore, because the gamepaly was so bad. I mean I would prefer to have a hockey game on my PC so I could update graphics and rosters easily, as well as control everythign through a computer program. But EA's on ice hockey gameplay I dislike a lot, plus as deep as their franchise mode has gotten it is too much like a hockey rpg for my tastes. ESPN franchise is what I could hope for, focussing on scouting and drafting and developing prospects, but unfortunately as well conceived it was, it ended up buggy and unplayable after a few season because of the free agents and increasing salaries and growing attributes. Maybe it's just that I am older now, and the arcade style hockey just doesn't appeal to me...

wow man should warned ya, unless you're a PC gamer there is absolutley no reason to buy EA Hockey games....they dont' even bother trying anything anymore it's sad. No improvements over what everyone complains about but they dont' care, there is no competition on the PC and that's what sucks. I really wish Sega would port over a few games for us diehard pc gamers....they might find a little nitch for themselves......NHL was the only game I used to buy on a yearly basis but the last 2 years I gave up on them, downloaded the game (yes probably not too legally) and played it for a day...then deleted all the files just because of how horribly put together it was.....just a sad thing....

The last game (hockey) I really enjoyed from EA was I think 98 or whatever one had Forsberg on the cover....now they're all the same with stupid enhancements (cards? Very gay and I dont' mean that in the homosexual way) and taking a step backwards in the graphics department which is sad cause I know of many guys out on the net that could do ALOT better of a job on the graphics in a shorter time.... lazy bastids.

That's why I dont understand. In 2001 and 2002 they had a pretty nice graphics engine going.....and then it went down hill. All the faces look crushed now.

I like it.

I've always liked the game,(2003, 2004) but the ratings this year are rediculous!!!!

How can Val Bure be more than Pavel Bure?

I look forward to this years game, the only probs are no create a player (can't update rookies) and horrible ratings( Balej will never be a top six forward according to the game.) Even though he is a lock to be top 6.

So Balej will basically never be a full-time NHLer? Bold prediction.

My question is...why do they still continue to include Pavel in the games?

He was still under contract at June 29, when the rosters are updated until.

his starting rating is 63..... he has no deking or speed. The chances of him becoming top six are slim to none. even if he has 84 potential!!!
He won't reach it.

If this game is anything like 2004 - where you have to improve your facilities before your players play to their potential, then Balej could easily become a star with an 84 potential rating.
