Habs call-up Frederic St-Denis
http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=601675
5'11, 182lb, zero games NHL experience, offensive minded...I would have much preferred Henry instead of another Weber/Diaz type...
I'm hoping for the best but
Is this what we'll see:
Gorges-Subban
St Denis-Weber
Emelin-Diaz
vs
When (if ever) healthy:
Markov-Gorges
Gill-Subban
Spacek-Weber
Campoli

Great story for this guy, but I hope he doesn't stay for too long.

For the past 10 yrs I don't think I've ever seen a defense as bad as the one we're gonna have on wednesday night, at least on paper.
3 rookies and 2 sophomores!?!?

Ouch. Josh Gorges alone has nearly 3x more NHL games under his belt than the combined rest of the defensive 6.

Games played in the NHL:
Gorges: 381
Subban: 96
Weber: 66
Diaz: 17
Emelin: 9
St-Denis:0
This is just sad

Tell me any team that could sustain the loss of their 4 most experienced dmen? (people dismiss Campoli, but having him healthy would be a big help at this point IMO)
Markov(623 GP), Gill(1010 GP), Campoli(398 GP) and Spacek(846 GP) all out =

Thank god Cole is on the Habs now or else he'd really light up that defense tomorrow.. This team will never be fully healthy and dress a full squad will they.. Sigh.

Let's see what he does tomorrow. Hopefully someone else comes back from injury.

Good guy in Hamilton, I don't think he's NHL material however.

Happy for Freddy, but yea this is getting rough. 4 of our experienced starting D-men are out.

Gorges-Subban
Hamrlik-Wiz
Spacek-Weber
That's what we could of have. We could even have kept Markov and still signed Cole. We only had to dump Gomez.

We could've had
Markov-Subban
Gill-Gorges
Spacek-Campoli/Weber/Emelin/Diaz
Also to the OP, I don't see St-Denis as an offensive defenseman. He's more of a Josh Gorges type of player.

I'm sure Freddy will play safer in the NHL, but he's a 2-way D in general. A little more offense than Gorges.

St-Denis is literally our last resort, hes like a #8 d, and ladies and gents we have officially scraped the bottom of the barrel.

Can he be any worse than what Traverse was?

Brendon Nash is probably wishing he weren't injured. This is his spot on the depth chart.

Of course. Why on earth would PG and JM call up Alex Henry.
Just what we need another small d man who really doesn't take the body or clear the net at all.
