Finally put together a decent top 6 ... 2 months in only Lupul, Kule and Kessel left standing ... sounds about right.

Pretty much everything that can stop us from making the playoffs is occurring. I'm not bothered about MacArthur being out -- he's sucked balls for us lately. But Grabovski will be a huge loss.

My guess for Thursday is:

Lupul - Connolly - Kessel
Kulemin - Lombardi - Frattin
Kadri - Bozak - Crabb
Dupuis - Steckel - Brown

im excited to see a line of kuli - Bozak - Kadri. i think that line will be a good all round line.

i want kadri to do really well so when armstrong comes back it can be armstrong - bozak - kadri again. that line in the off season was doing really well.

armstrong kept saying how well that team was doing and how impressed he was with kadri, hopefully the sparks continue.

Wouldn't surprise me if the Grabo had a meniscus tear. Same injury happened to me and judging by the replay it is a possibility. Especially since he was able to skate, and continued on for another shift. The recovery period for meniscus tears are about 2-4 weeks depending on the severity.

I didn't see the play Mac was injured on, hopefully it's nothing serious.

You are right. MCL/ACL/medial meniscus "triad" injuries are caused by medial force directed to the outside of the knee, which is where it looked like the impact was. Depending on the severity, layoff could be a couple weeks or could be a few months.

I'd go with:

Lupul - Connolly - Kessel
Kadri - Bozak - Kulemin
Lambo - Steckel - Frattin
Brown - Dupuis - Crabb/Rosehill/Orr (Depending on who we're facing)

No more excuses to keep Kadri down anymore. Bring him up, and give him the top 6 minutes he needs IMO. Bozak and Kulemin are good enough defensively to let Kadri be creative. I hope this is the 2nd line they go with, and I'm very eager to see what they could do.

If TC is still injured, then move Lambo to #1C, Crabb to third line winger, and Rosehill/Orr/Ziggy for 4th line winger depending on who we're facing.

We just can't catch a break. Leafs nation = forever cursed.
On the brightside, atleast our prospects get a chance to play. No brightside for Riems being injured though

Lupul-Connolly-Kessel
Kadri-Bozak-Kulemin
Lombardi-Steckel-Frattin
Crabb-Dupuis-Brown

why call up a player to sit beside Rosehill and Orr? they might get dumber through osmosis.
Why is Boyce not playing over Dupuis? Stupid Wilson, Boyce has great hustle and scored some timely goals against Philly and the Sharks last year.

If you want to be a good team in this league then you have to be able to weather the storm when your top players are out. Watch Pittsburgh play without Crosby, Geno, or Staal for an example of that.

Hopefully they are minor in nature

I think we should do:

Lupul - Connolly - Kessel
Kadri - Bozak - Kulemin
Brown - Lombardi - Frattin
Steckel - Dupuis - Rosehill / Orr

Simply put, if this wants to succeed and move forward, it's going to have to face adversity at some point. Maybe this is it.

We didn't deal with it too well last season, and so far we haven't really dealt with it all that well this season.

Right now we potentially have: our starting goalie, our 2 top line centers, a top 6 forward, and our best checking forward out through injury. It's time for this team to dig deep.

Fingers crossed that these two aren't out for long, but if they are, we can't use it as excuse.

If Pittsburgh can deal with the losses of Crosby and Malkin, we can deal with this

why on earth would Frattin draw into the top-6 ahead of Kadri? The only reason he's in above Kadri right now is because he's a better fit on the 3rd line, and they want Naz to develop in a top-6 role.

It always worries me, when someone goes for an MRI, that it's not minor.

^I agree. When Kadri had just a knee sprain and went for an MRI he was out for some 2 weeks?

I think we can afford to lose MacA for a couple of games but definitely not Grabo. If and when Kuli does come out of his funk (which happens sooner rather than later) we're going to need Grabo to be there so they can both be a threat.

I'm just happy that this may be an opportunity for Kadri to get called up so he can hopefully prove to Wilson & Co that he deserves to be at the big club.

I think that was someone else. Disgruntled Observer. I think he said last week he's downgraded it to the 2nd worst.

Unless there was someone else too.

Orr and Rosehill are ok hockey players, certainly not goons. Orr is not a liability defensively.

The Marlies have 3 games in a row this weekend, hopefully Kadri and Colborne can get these 3 in and play well, then we will see where we should go depending how we do in those games.
