Toronto-Carolina

Komisarek (29 Years Old)

17 1 3 4 +4

4.5 Cap Hit (2 more years after this, but only makes $3.5 Million each year real money)

Kaberle (33 Years Old)

18 0 4 4 -5

4.25 Cap Hit (2 more years after this, makes $4.25, $4.5 Million in each of the next two years)

Komisarek has picked up his game this year, a dramatic improvement from the last couple (playing well on the pk too) but I think he could still use a change of scenery.

Kaberle will help the powerplay and has always produced well for Toronto.

Bring the king home.

Canes will be looking, and most likely will, get more for Kaberle.

completely agree, Komi is playing great right now and even though hes not supposed to be offensive, hes chipping in well offensively. Kaberle on the other hand is paid to be offensive and has as many points as Komi, so no from leafs POV

It'd be great, but Carolina would never go for it. Short memories around here.

Komi would be better for a weak defensive team. See NYI, EDM, CBJ

Actually, the way they're both playing, I wouldn't do this deal at all. Kaberle's offensive game is gone, and he's a liability on the PP.

i doubt goes softer on the blueline + komi has been so solid so far! excellent turn around season!

My memory is fine. I was a big fan of Kabs, but he's redundant on our team with Liles and Gardiner, and has struggled since leaving the Buds.

It's plainly obvious to me that none of the Leafs defenceman other than Phanuef and Komisarek are capable of keeping traffic to a minimum in front of the net (Schenn's starting to look better), so I would argue that positionally, Komisarek is more valuable to our blueline than Kabs would be.

There is no way that the Leafs trade to get kaberle back when now....why wouldnt they have sign him on july first if they really wanted him?

komisarek looks like he'll compete for the norris this season compared to kaberle

sarcasm

kaberle doesn't have a spot with liles and gardiner playing well.

Thats what we need, another left handed puck moving defenceman.

Sorry but Komisarek has been awesome this year, shot blocking machine too. Even scored a goal last night.

If he can play this good for another 2 years, I hope Burke re-signs him.

Komisarek was a beast last night. Single handedly turned the game around with a massive hit and then score a big goal with 5 shots on goal (this from a stay at home defender). His poor play from last year was due to injury as he is playing as good as he did in Montreal.

Carolina has 7 dmen right now, apparently they're trying to obtain a forward for Kabs.

Just for the record, Carolina would also reject this as trading a dman for a dman doesn't help us.

So you want the Canes to trade a player who's off to a poor start for a player that is completely useless.. I don't think that the Canes have any interest in that pylon.

Meant the Canes not the jackets. now fixed
