Kovalchuk will play tonight in Buffalo. Goes back with Parise and Henrique
Good, I'm glad to get him back. I hope he factors into our scoring tonight.

I thought he was very good last night, but I guess he still isn't doing what DeBoer wants him to do. This scratch will probably help him, the same way it did for Henrique. I expect to hear that DeBoer gave him a player to watch and emulate in the future, because Buffalo has some very effective small two-way guys, like Gerbe and Ennis.
Looks like I was right when I said Teddy will be a healthy scratch
Everyone knows I'm a big fan of Zharkov, but I'd much rather he be the scratch (Janssen first, but then Zharkov), and I figured he would be. Tedenby played very well last night against a very good team. His line was very good. I can't say I really understand this move. Maybe he's going to tell him to sit and watch Gerbe? It worked for Henrique when Pete told him to watch Richardson...
Tedenby is a healthy scratch after yesterday`s performance? Are you ****ing kiddin` me? This is unbelievable. I want to hear coach`s explanation on this, I really do.

He was doing exactly what he was asked to do. The only thing I remember is that his line was on the ice when Bruins scored and got benched instead of Carter who left his man open.

DeBoer on scratching Tedenby: "I'm just going to sit him down. Sometimes you have to take a step back to take two forward."

I'm sorry but what kind of message does this send to a player?
Play some of your best hockey of the season and don't be a defensive liability. And you are a healthy scratch for Zharkov, Mills, and Janssen...
thats because his linemates just watched him rather than try to move around and get open
come on. you cant rationalize sitting Tedenby over Janssen or Zharkov, who will only play 4-5 minutes anyways
I am a Teddy fan and think that his skills are not being utlized well; coach Ackbar would put Teddy and Parise together because Parise has the best knack for getting open during an offensive zone cycle.
I also think that Teddy was on the ice for the 4th Boston goal and perhaps Coach Debbie is punishing him for it.
That`s the biggest BS I`ve ever heard. Worse than Lucic.
Relax, this isn't the end of the world. He's not being punished. Sometimes getting to watch a game from above helps you more than actually playing in it.
I don't get scratching Tedenby now. I think it would have been fine earlier in the season but not after his last couple of games where he's been pretty solid. Not the end of the world, though.
While I agree he was very good yesterday, and I don't agree with the move, he is still the worst player on the team defensively. Almost seems to have regressed since last season. He was OK there last night, but still nowhere near where he needs to be. Hopefully he can gain some perspective while watching on how to play in his own zone. It'd be nice if we could get JL to help him out in that regard as well.

I know, I`m just mad because I don`t see any reason for that.

I usually understand his decision, especially in Tedenby`s case, but this particular argument has no justification behind.
Maybe he asked Teddy to do certain things in yesterdays game and he didn't deliver. We can't be upset at DeBoer since we have no idea what he's asking out of our little Swede.
i guess im at least happy with the fact that deboer offered an explanation for scratching teddy as opposed to just avoiding anything related to it. hope teddy takes it in stride.
It`s not about "being sold on him", it`s about the logic behind the decision cj.

I can`t think of what else he had to do to please him, but ok, let`s leave it there.
The whole team is playing poor positionally. Teddy outplayed Carter defensively last night, possibly Clarkson as well.
So I don't degree with the scratch, but it isn't a huge deal right now. Maybe DeBoer knows Buffalo is kind've (KIND'VE. I SAID KIND OF.) a small, soft team so he wants to keep on the size quotient for tomorrow and maybe have an advantage. We'll see how it works out. Lemaire benched Teddy a few times last season, and when he got back in the lineup, he went on a bit of a tear.
There must be something in the locker room or during practice or something like that we just don't know about it.
We can clearly see the on-ice ups and downs, but there's probably more to this then just his lack of back-checking power.

He has left A LOT to be desired in the defensive zone. That's pretty much the only reason I can think of for sitting him. It's a good reason, though I wonder how effective Palmieri can be on that line. Tedenby was the motor that made that line go the past couple games.

Hope it makes him stronger.
Just saying that there has to be a good reason behind his decision and he doesn't have to justify it by actually telling TG or Chere. He'll give them the hand fed excuse and move forward.
I doubt that's what he told Tedenby when telling him he wasn't playing tonight.

In all fairness, it would've been real weird if Palmieri got scratched tonight after scoring 2 goals yesterday.
