Meh, who really gives a **** about last night? I don't. UNC lost to Santa Clara in 2005 and unranked BC (while they were #1) in 2009. We knew they weren't going undefeated. Talk to me again if they lose an important game in March.

It doesnt matter, as I posted before. But difference between this year and 05 and 09 was that UNC clearly had the most talent those years. This year they dont. They still will do well and I expect them to at least get to the final 4.
In 05 Illinois went into the NC game undefeated. I'd argue they had the most talent that year.
They may not be head and shoulders over everybody this year, but they have enough talent to win it all. I'm not really concerned with an early season non-conference loss. UNLV was even a tournament team last year.
We'll really see what they're made of in the next two games vs. Wisconsin and @ Kentucky.
Illinois was not undefeated, they lost a game to tOSU that year. They still werent as good as UNC. UNC does have enough talent to win, but it about equal with UK and UConn. Then throw in tOSU and maybe Syracuse and Duke. It's early in the season, so there is alot of time for teams to improve until March, which will be the case.
The last team to do it was one of Knight's 70's teams.
You can talk about how hilarious that is that Pitt loses to [Insert Mid Major], but 1) those mid majors are good and 2) it happens so frequently every year it's just a footnote. Syracuse lost to Cleveland State on a freak 3. MSU lost to some mid-major and ended up in the Final Four. So it doesn't mean anything.
As for the other big Mid Major over Power Conference upset last night, Northeastern's looking legit this year. CAA might actually be one of the 4 or 5 best conferences in the country despite being a "mid major"

When did that happen? I don't remember Cleveland State doing that. I thought it was LeMoyne and it was a preseason game.
Donovan and Coach K were the same age at the time of their 400th win and both have 2 national titles in that span. Donovan did it in one less season though. There's no doubt in my mind that Donovan can and will pass Coach K's wins record if he stays coaching college ball.

I just wonder...Florida was never really a basketball school til a decade ago. He's got something there where he's the man. But unlike in Coach K's day...exploration is fairly common.

True enough, and as bad as it is to say the SEC right now is nowhere near as tough as the ACC was at a similar point in Coach K's career. That would play to Donovan's benefit if he can keep putting out strong teams, even if they're not on par with some of those Duke teams from those years back.
