Once again, severe warnings and all I see a bit of rain. Not even enough to push the white trash party across the way inside for a bit.

Is there a fire or something in Fort Sask? I can usually see the lights good there from my place but there is a gigantic ball of light.

^that's from out my window in Sherwood Park

I wouldn't be surprised if there is just something going on at one of the many plants in that area. Shell could just be burning something off.

Yup. Flaring waste gas. Sure is freaking bright, though.

Was driving from Sherwood Park to Fort Sask about 13 years ago with the GF in winter, and the whole sky was a seeming giant fireball ahead of us, and we're driving right into it. Truly a ridiculous occasion. Ditched the family gathering and just watched the flames for an hour or so.

Cutting and trimming lawn in middle of the day was an ordeal. Mid day heat and not even effecting the ******** who were coming at me fast and furious for running over their lush abode..
I'd use some repellent but it seems to be perfume to skeeters.

They seem to be making up for lost time. They tried to haul off my left arm but I got away in time.

LOL same. It helped a bit when I threw some dead branches in the fire pit though. Smoked them out of the yard.

I didn't have a problem yesterday. Even at my work where they are usually horrible there is none.

As for Fort Sask. Read an article talking about Whitecourt and Fort Sask, one place had baseball size hail. Granted I don't know if it was actually that big, but it was probably pretty large.

Crazy storm on the southside. Almost like a mini-typhoon.

I suspect Darwin was an Edmontonian.

Lightning storm knocked the power out of several neighborhoods about an hour ago. It's been back for about 10 minutes or so now. Still though, these thunder and lightning storms EVERY DAY are really getting tiresome. It's a cool show but it's getting played out. And the skeeters don't help.

Really? Mine came back after about 5 minutes. About as long as it took me to trip my way into the kitchen and find a light. Interesting how the progression is always the same though.. lightning flash -> no lights -> sirens.

Funny though, they were so happy on the news last night as they talked about how we wouldn't see storms for a couple days. Must suck being a meteorologist in this city.

Just spent the last 15 minutes staring out my window at the hail. Can't even remember the last time I saw any freezing rain.

Hail has mostly stopped i would say - was about 15 mins worth, just rain now it seems.

You had to yell to talk to somebody in the mall downtown. That is how loud and hard the hail was hitting the roof.
