without the nba going on and pretty much any dunk making the top 10, i'm not surprised some hockey's getting some attention.

Larsson has definately been shaky lately, has made some poor decisions, and has turned to try and push an opposing player wide too late in the past several games

Obviously he's just 18 years old and mistakes are expected with the workload he has, and in the last few games he's played like an 18 year old, not the 24 year old we saw in him at times earlier in the season and by no means am I getting on Larsson's case, he just hasn't looked good recently is all

I expected Larsson to have his struggles. He is playing on our top pairing against good players at high minutes.

He definitely is struggling though, and if he gets moved off the top D pair then I would have no complaints.

Which, IMO, is absurd and will not happen. This is not a fantasy roster, where you casually activate and deactivate players. Personalities, learning curves and team dynamics come into play in the real NHL. Besides, the team is competing and succeeding many nights. You want to BUILD COHESION, build familiarity, especially among your top minute players. Not create upheaval, as in benching your #1 dman.

Resist the urge to over-manipulate. Trust in players, let players play. Let young players who have shown a lot continue to learn from experience. There is nothing broken here to fix. Don't break it.

Deboer won't touch Larsson.
So many times I've been getting ready to say something and then I read your response and I have nothing left to contribute, well said again.

As for the Myers hit I definitely think with the Shanny Standard he should be getting a 1-2 game suspension for that hit, he looked up and could arguably have been doing nothing but targeting his head there, I think a short suspension would be consistent with what I've seen.

ESPN has pretty much been forced to show more hockey highlights and give it more coverage on sports center because they have nothing else to fill the air time

That's why Barnaby/Melrose/Cohn/Bucci/etc have been on set for 5 or so minutes rather than the 1-2 minutes we saw in previous years when they had the NBA to overkill their air time

I wouldn't bench Larsson, but I would have Larry sit him down and watch film.

The last 2 games seem like they've been exploiting him on the same play

As it should be. There should be more hockey on espn in general.

My dad and his gf know some guy that is at the top of espn and I'm hoping to meet him so I can tell him that espn should show more hockey and talk about it more. There is some crap that they put on espn and not to mention how every show repeats all the **** that has happened during the day.

I can't wait til we get a healthy Zajac back in this lineup and the continued development of Henrique and Larsson (who has been shakey lately).
FWIW I did not think the 4th line was bad. They played a decent game. The first goal they gave up was a result of Kovy's inability to skate. The second was Janssen screwing up 356456 times and the Sabres pressing really hard. When Zajac comes back a 4th line of Pelley/Mills-Carter-Zharkov could be very useful.

Brodeur was a real treat to watch tonight -- just outstanding.

I expect the Shana-ban to be 2 games on the Zubrus hit. I think the Sabres are too -- they didn't show a replay of it in the arena (something they do in case of injury to begin with) during or after and it isn't part of the post-game NHL highlights package. He's getting a timeout. Hope Zubie's ok tomorrow -- he was holding onto the top of the boards at the bench afterward, looked like he was huffing some smelling salts.

This was a night where I appreciate that I lived trough the Brodeur era. He truly showed how he can pretty much win/save a game by himself.

I was laid up recovering from the flu the last few days but made it out for the game tonight. I was wondering why Tedenby was scratched -- was looking forward to seeing some waterbuggin' out there from him.

Some of us were disappointed to see it too. He has played well recently but has been having a little tough of a season in the defensive zone. DeBoer is trying to get a spark out of him and hopefully get him to see what works and doesn't work in the defensive zone.

WHAT A NIGHT! I just came home and I'm friggin exhausted but I don't care at all. I got to celebrate with the Devils on Patty's goal, basically. Just total domination. A few chincy goals against, but whatever. I can't wait to go back to BUF. The ticket description was behind the bench, but I'm glad we sat where we were. That was so awesome.
