Upcomming Homestand pivitol moment in Avs season

After tonights game in Minny, the Avs are back home for an 8 game Home Stand, I think this is going to be a HUGE moment in our season for alot of reasons.

We start our Home Game stretch at either 8-10-1 or 9-9-1, I dont think thats the record managment was hoping we'd have at this point when we traded our 1st and possibly 2nd round pick, so if this Home stand doesnt go well, I can see alot of changes coming. I think we need to go at least 5-3 while at home, preferably 6-2, if the Avs can do this, then I think we will still be in the thick of things and nothing major will happen, BUT if we continue to play bad at home or dont put in any 60 Minute efforts and end up going like 3-5 or 2-6 or something on this stretch, I think Sacco will be done, this is his final chance IMO, if were bad at home for the 8 games, hes done. I also think we could then see a trade involving one or two of our Defensive prospects(Gaunce and Barrie) to bring in a Top 6 goal scorer, its not looking good for Mueller anymore, and if he cant come back, we need another top 6 guy in there, because as much as I like Lindstrom he's not Top 6, and Kobasew isnt either.

So what do you guys think, I really think this will be a HUGE point of our season, it could either turn us around and back in the right direction, or we see huge changes.

We need at least 6 out of 8 wins on this homestand, sadly with Sacco calling the shots I don't see it happening.

We'll likely go 3-5, and a minor change will happen. Probably Galiardi getting traded for a lesser player.

We definitely need to take at least 6 of those games at home if we are going to get things turned around. Playing .500 hockey or worse on a huge home stretch just isn't getting the job done & I'd expect big changes to come if it doesn't look good at the end of it.

But, thinking positively, it's a huge opportunity to get things rolling in the right direction again.

Every game matters very much at this point. Colorado is really living on a game to game basis, and sadly the losses are piling up. 2-7-1 in the last 10, 3-8-1 in the past 12, 1-5-1 in November.

The club has already given up more goals in seven November games (31) than it did in all eleven October games (29).

This is bandwagon jumping time, which can go either way.

And for the record, I will not be jumping ship or anything like that, but I will not be posting for the next week or so. (Jamaica)

Easy solution: just petition the league to be able to wear white jerseys even for home games.

This will either limp us into the 8th playoff spot or secure a lottery pick to Washinton.

Management is probably going to assess the team's situation after this, so we'll see whether Sacco can save his job or not. I don't think he will.

Whats the schedule on these 8 games? I'd look it up but I'm lazy and frankly, it should have been included in the OP

Screw it, I'll just list em'

Fri Nov 18, 2011 Dallas
Sun Nov 20, 2011 San Jose
Wed Nov 23, 2011 Vancouver
Sat Nov 26, 2011 Edmonton
Mon Nov 28, 2011 Dallas
Wed Nov 30, 2011 New Jersey
Fri Dec 2, 2011 St Louis
Sun Dec 4, 2011 Detroit

Wow, we're screwed.

Dallas twice = 2 losses, San Jose pwns us, Detroit too. We can win the others but ...... we'll see. I see 3 possible wins, highlighted

If we can get goaltending I think we can beat Dallas, we should have beat them like 4 or 5-2 last time, but Varly played HORRIBLE(Leghtonen sp? did to), we outplayed them just couldnt keep the puck out of our net.

My Best hope is that we beat EDM, NJD, STL for sure, and if we can get 5 out of the 10 remaining points it would be bad, a 5-2-1 record would be decent!

I think we can beat Vancouver, they for whatever reason dont seem to be the team they were last year, and I think again with good goaltending, we can beat them!

I might be overly optimistic here(a rarity on these boards I know) but I think the Avs will finally figure out there Home woes and play great over the stretch, and this might be wacky but I see them going 6-1-1(Losing to SJ and Dal in OT). I also see them beating Minny tonight, so while I might be crazy, I see the Avs going 7-1-1 in the next 9 games!!

That is optimistic, but to go along to the non-sensical aura around this team, they'll probably beat teams better than them Dallas, SJ, Van, DET but lose and lose bad to teams we should beat, EDM, STL, NJ
so a 5-3 record.

what's after a 7th round pick?

btw I actually Galiardi is really good, but the way Sacco has defecated on his confidence makes him look limp when he's out there.
