2012 Free agents, who would you see in a Habs jersey

I was looking at next year's free agent crop, obviously some will be re-signed by their respective teams but if you had to make a big investment on a signing considering the Habs needs, which player(s) would you want?

http://www.mynhltraderumors.com/2011...-unrestricted/

free agents are listed by position

I would go for Paul Gaustad, Parise obviously and either Suter or Gleason .
I doubt they will be available but it would really be nice to grab one of them.

For sure my 1st target would be Ryan Suter. With Gill, Spacek and Campoli most probably gone we definitely will be looking for D. Suter would be a great addition and a player that would be able to replace Markov if something would happen again to Andrei. I would definitely give him a huge contract, something like Buffalo did with Ehrhoff, long term but cap friendly.

If Kostitsyn was to be let go, I wonder if we would be able to sign a guy like Semin but a 1-2 year contract. Doubt he would be interested in that, I'm sure he will want a long term deal

Frans Nielsen.

I don't see the Islanders not re-signing him though. The guy's a tremendous defensive forward.

IMO Gauthier need to get a big mean top 4 dman that can play physical, reliable in his own zone and on the PK to replace Gill. So,
Sarich, Stuart, Allen.

I'd go after Suter. Parise will be re-signed or dealt to somebody who will sign him imo. Semen will hit the market or be re-signed.

I could see a team like NYR going after Semen to make their top 6 really strong. Same with Toronto.

Of the two (Parise and Suter), I think Parise is more likely to hit the market. He'd fit this team like a glove, but that's just a pipe dream.

Other FAs I hoped the Habs would look at: Stoll, Gaustad, Stuart, Gleason.

And just because he should have never left...

Gorges, Moen, and Kostitsyn would all be welcome back at good prices I'd say.

Gauthier needs to pull a Sather, trade Gomez at the draft and throw his 7.4 million at Parise in July.

And pickup a blue-chip prospect at the same time. :|

If we dump gomez to the minors and the salary cap goes up again, then I want both Semin/Parise and Suter. I know I'm greedy

Of course I'd like Suter but these seem more realistic: Ruutu, Gleason, Gaustad...

Definitely yes to Gorges and Moen. Maybe to Kostitsyn depending on contract demands.

Parise and Suter would be dream signings but highly unlikely.

On defence i would say add at least one guy with some sandpaper...Gleason and Barret Jackman would be high on my list. Allen and Sarich would also be considered.

Top 9 forwards i like T. Ruutu, Doan on a shorter deal. Gaustad/Prust as 3rd/4th liners.

You could probably bury Gomez and sign Ruutu/Gleason with his money. Price & Subban will get big raises but letting Spacek/Gill walk should cover them.

I could live with this:

Cammalleri-Plekanec-Cole
Pacioretty-Desharnais-Ruutu
Moen-Eller-Gionta
Prust-Gaustad-White
Palushaj

Markov-Emelin
Gleason-Subban
Gorges-Weber
Diaz

Definitely NOT Semin.

Do not trust Russians to give their max... especially in the PO's.

Even Markov has mediocre playoff stats (3 career NL PO goals )
