- Enroth
- Stronger d-play in the first and third. They were hemmed in hard in the second but didn't do anything stupid in that span to cost themselves.
- Converting on the PP
- PKing was solid
- Myers cleans out Dwyer but blocking a bundle of shots and generally having a solid night on D
- Boyes centering Leino and Stafford -- all over the Canes tonight.
- Tropp up reminds me of early Kaleta in that he gives them a lot of energy and physical play.
The Bad -
- Eh. Didn't like Vanek-Roy-Pominville tonight. Rough night at ES.
-
The Ugly --
- Harrison jacking up Gragnani in front of the net late.

Roy hasn't worked with them in either of the two full games. That line won the Montreal game, but they've looked bad since.
Not much in the way off offense, but they limited the chances against and got the shutout on the road. It was a far from perfect game, but they did what had to be done to get 2 more points.

It would fly in the face of Ruff-a-nomics to take Boyes and put him up with Vanek and Pominville and bring Roy back with Leino and Stafford... but Boyes has not stopped no matter where he is in the lineup and Roy was heating up with Leino and Stafford. I would try them out tomorrow against Phoenix.

Same. Considering Boyes is already playing with Vanek and Pominville on the first powerplay unit, they should have some decent chemistry.
Bad: I'd add Stafford, Boyes and Leino looked great but Stafford couldn't capitalize on their work.
Ugly:
Skinner
Brind'Amour
True about Stafford. He's had a handful of freaking glorious chances lately and can't find the twine. But they're getting chances. It wasn't like VRP who outside of the goal, I don't recall more than two chances.
I liked the defensive play of Sekera and Ehrhoff tonight. Both broke up some odd man rushes and played well in their own zone. Myers had a game as well.
G-
Enroth, very nice game
Defense as a whole looked better
Myers with another solid game
Boyes looked solid
Tropp
LBS line looked good
No screening!!!!
B-
VRP line wasn't terrible, but I just don't like Roy with Vanek and Poms, try Adam again
Sylvester PxP
U-
Carolina's effort was good, but no finish
Staal
Maurice
G: A win is a win. Enroth was about as solid as you can get.
THE VERY UGLY:
It was 13 periods ago that some forward, other than Roy, Vanek or Pominville, have scored a goal.
That needs to change.
That's awful. That's one reason the team this year (despite a good record) hasn't looked too hot. The much talked about "scoring depth" has turned out to be non-existent. When your second and third line aren't scoring, that's bad news. Maybe the return of Ennis will help kick start something?

Exactly, Stafford has been the last few games how Roy was before Roy got 10 points in 6 games. He's getting the chances but isn't burying them. You can't help but get the feeling that he's going to get on a hot streak soon.

Which would be welcome, since it seems the Vanek-Pominville super-duo has slowed a bit. That LBS line looks like they could simply crack a scoresheet wideopen with a bushel of goals one of these nights.
Roy was very noticeable in the defensive zone, he made several key plays. But, he needs to man up in front of his own net! That Hooking call was a result of him doing a drive by, if your man stops on the empty side of the net YOU STOP THERE TOO! Great hustle though!
We are solid...solid with EN-ROTH!
Leino is getting there, another positive step!
Bad:
I'm an Eric Staal fan, it sucks to see him struggle THIS much. Hope he turns it around soon. I feel bad for their coach too, it's a tough situation!
Stafford didn't have much puck luck in the first two periods but he was pretty good in the 3rd.
Ugly:
Adam not having his stick on the ice, should have been an easy tap in!
- Enroth
- Boyes and Leino (the irony...)
- Adam and Tropp's digging, especially that one sequence where Tropp totally outwilled Kaberle
- Less defensive mistakes than usual
- Gerbe breaking up that one chance from the slot
- Sekera driving the net
Bad
- Stafford's lack of finish
- VRP did nothing except for maybe 1 shift
- Gerbe relegated to stalking centering passes
- Sometimes I'm surprised Gragnani is brave enough to touch the puck
- Ehrhoff doing his best to give away odd man rushes. He's lucky the Canes are incompetent
- Shooting from the point once we had undisputed possession on the last PP. Ruff is an idiot for not telling them to keep passing around the perimeter.
Ugly
- Staal's season

Thats the line that I've been clamoring for. Dooeet!
