Tripe! (Bucky Gleason Article)

http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/co...icle636478.ece

"First, I should thank the Sabres for allowing the media into their dressing room for a glimpse into their world after the game. The way Ryan Miller made it sound Tuesday, we have no idea what happens behind closed doors. Well, a little birdie told me Miller was near tears before the media arrived Saturday in Boston.

"I wasn't there, but people talk. Sometimes, they talk about him. But it's no big deal, really........

"Talk coming from the Sabres' dressing room recently suggested they play harder in front of Enroth, which was troubling. Miller said the other day that his teammates have his back, but it sure looked like the opposite Saturday.

"That said, the Sabres have taken to Enroth since last season. He's an easygoing kid with a friendly personality who doesn't let too much bother him. He's also been a very good player. He wasn't in top form Wednesday, but he also didn't get much support from his teammates. Ruff summoned Drew MacIntyre for mop-up duty without worrying about Enroth's psyche.........

"It's not always that easy with Miller, who should know that he's not making many friends in his locker room when he throws up his arms or stares down his teammates after giving up goals. The Sabres are no different than any other professional athlete, or anybody else. Nobody likes being shown up in the workplace, and it hasn't gone over well.

"Or so the little birdie said."

What incendiary, baseless tripe!

Rock on, Bucky. Took all of 8 seconds to find holes in such a pointless article.

It sounds like his little birdie is the collective twitter accounts of many of Miller's detractors. I've quite honestly never heard any of the journalists complain about the shrugging and alleged showing up of his teammates until this year when many fans have made it an issue. It's too bad that he has to revert to low-hanging fruit because he's not a good enough journalist to come up with a better idea or article. Pandering for page hits in its purest form.

I actually agree... sort of...

There's more to team success than individual statistics/performance. I think the personalities, demeanor, attitude of 2 specific players has been a BIG reason why this team has lacked identity, chemistry, and a team mentality for the last 4+ seasons.

But I'm just a stupid hater with a dumb opinion

I have NO idea which two people you're thinking of. None.

Does Bucky even know how to get up from his desk and go find a story? My god.

I think the Sabres need to institute an annual Sabres/Media scrimmage.

Any coincidence that this article comes out the same day as Pegula's interview with B-Mac of TSN regarding Penn State?

Nah, Bucky has no axe to grind here...........

At least you're being honest with yourself Jame.

There is nothing (except for pure, unproven speculation) that Miller is in any way a problem. This is the height of irresponsibility on Bucky's part. All it does is provide fuel for those with unsubstantiated agendas. I can name at least 2 specific posters with those....

Also, this is now in the Truth and Rumors section on the CNNSI webpage.

First, let's name names here. Since it's you Jame, I can state without a doubt that the two players are Roy and Miller.

It's silly to blame the problems of a team of 23 players on two players.

The 05-06 teams and 06-07 teams have these players on them, and it wasn't an issue. Cups were won with much worse 'attitude' players than the ones you claim are the cancer on this team. This is a much different team than we saw last year. Three new 'key' pieces were added and several glue guys (Nieds and Grier) gone. Add to that heightened expectations probably above what the roster dictates what it should be. We don't know how this team is yet. And that isn't Miller, Roy's, or anyones fault. It's the fact that the season isn't 20 games old yet.
