Derek Stepan

Always liked him, but I don't get to see him play often so I don't really know what type of player he is. What's his potential upside? 60 point, two way player?

hes not a prospect. but hes probably got 70 point potential. great vision and passing. decent shot. not a very good skater, if he was a better skater he'd have a chance to be an elite player imo.

He is playing on the first line and first line power play with Gaborik. I can see 65 points year.

Smart hockey player. Go USA!

First saw him in the WJC and he immediately stood out as a playmaker. Him and D'Amigo had great chemistry. Could hit him from anywhere. Great pick in the second. Staal, Lundqvist, Sauer, Callahan, Dubinsky, Anisimov, Stepan, del Zotto, possibly Kreider. NYR has drafted well. Provided a good base for Richards and Gaborik.

60-70 points would probably be his natural ceiling. Put him with two good wingers and he might get more. Definitely a good two way playmaker with some developing grit and he has some pretty good size. His only knock is really his skating, he's a terrible skater. Fix his skating and you might improve his overall production. He sees the ice like a veteran and will make smart plays.

60 points won't be impossible for him this year if he continues to play on the top line with Gaborik. He's also our second powerplay QB with Richards

they'll fix his skating with barb underhill this offseason this season he'll but up about 65 points. Next season he'll have a better chance at making his name known around the whole league imo
