Niklas Backstrom, just to give people fits.

Probably Neuvirth.

No one knows yet.

We don't even know who is starting next game. The Caps typically give about four to eight hours' advance notice.

So check back about 3pm on October 7th, 2012.

My favorite of all time from earlier this year.

"Joel Ward, no relation to Cam."

I about died laughing when he said that.

Another of my faves is Greene no relation to Mike Green.

If we win it all Neuvirth, if we have the annual playoff fail I can see Vokoun being resigned for a year or two

Win it all/Make it deep in the SCF= Vokoun for another year, with 4X(at least) the salary he's at now.
Lose early= Neuvirth, if Vokoun won't stay cheap.
Totally **** the bed= Neuvy/Holtby tandem.

against which contenders would you be comfortable with neuvirth in net for a 4-7 game series?

I sincerely hope it's not Neuvirth.

He's the worst out of Varlamov, Neuvirth, Holtby, and Vokoun.

I think Neuvirth is awesome but only when he gets a good run of games going. He's not a very good backup (similar to Gustavsson on Toronto who looks good as a starter but terrible when he plays the odd game as a backup).

I went out and got Neuvy+Holtby both for my fantasy team, hopefully one of them eh?

He was certainly better last year when he had a run of games, but both Varlamov and Holtby were still better. The numbers prove it.

Neuvirth is the kind of goalie who will make the first save but nothing spectacular.

If you give him a good defense, he'll do good. If you don't, he'll suck.

But most goalies will do well when the team plays good defense in front of you. So there's really nothing special about Neuvirth. He's like vanilla.... adequate but not a gamebreaker.

Varlamov, Holtby, and Vokoun are all more athletic and capable of stealing games for us.

If Markstrom emerges in Florida, Jose Theodore would be available to return to Washington.

Neuvy is leaps and bounds better in the positioning department then Varly and Holtby. Go figure the other two are mentioned before Neuvy because a majority of the time he isn't out of position and forced to make the flashy saves. The way Vokoun flops around at time, Neuvy is close to him. He also has a wicked glove, but like a couple other said he needs games. Holtby is playing like garbage in Hershey so far this year. Varly isn't getting a lot of help form his team, but he isn't to hot right now. Vokoun… the Nashville game is a great example of his play. He will play about 90% or more of a game perfect and just completely goes brain dead for the other 10%.

Back to Holtby. Between his awful play and Grubauer being lights out…might be time for Holtby to spend some time back in the ECHL

Lol not likely. Plus Theodore signed a no trade clause with Florida so he can retire and buy a house in beautiful Sunrise because he is stinking rich.

Holtby is not doing good.... well that sucks ass. Some suggested that getting Vokoun, that it would be good for Holtby to be in Hershey another year anyways. I have never understood those assumptions. Looking at his development, he showed me and Canada he was ready for a bigger challenge, heck even time in the playoffs.

It must have been tough seeing George telling the media he made it to the NHL, only to hear we landed Tvo. Imagine how you would feel if you graduated college, got hired but then your boss... changed his mind. Sent you back for another year of training, smugly being told it will be good for you. That's a laugh. Talk about mixed emotions, and confidence levels.

Hershey is nice but when the train ride ends, its gets old just buying candy.
