Pretty sure this was tongue in cheek, but I think it has to do with letting Giguere keep a solid rhythm. Not too many days off, not too many close to each other.

Keep him rested enough and sharp enough for the stretch run and possible playoff run.

Plus it will be good for the team if they win two in a row, rather than win one, lose one.

Varlamov will get the start against Blues on Saturday but that's as close to a scheduled loss as you will have in a year. Play Friday at home and travel to St Louis to play a rested Blues team. Perhaps he'll go into ninja mode.

I do agree with giving Giguere the start in the must win game though. I just hope it's not a massacre on Saturday. It might not be good for Varlamovs confidence.

Please compile stats from game 1 through now, I need a breakdown of every single shot and missed shot based on which goalie it was against. I also need blocked shot totals for Avalanche players.

The breakdown needs to be the total feet away from the net the shot was shot from.

I'll do some analysis and present to you my findings after that. I'd venture to guess you'll have more goals scored in close on Giggy, more shots in close on Varly, more goals scored far away on Varly, more shots far away on Giggy.

How about you quantify what you claim to be Varlamov's superior athleticism, which is serving him so well.

That would go a long way to proving his athleticism if you could gather the data for me.

Pretty please with sugar on top?

But I mean, if you aren't confident in Giggy coming out on top of that argument... I can understand why you'd be hesitant.

Varly's save percentage has slowly creeped up to .909%, GAA down to 2.69. Playing really, really well.

Those numbers still look really bad but I'm loving his .946 SV% since the beginning of February. Playing at a very high level when we need him the most.

Varlamov is earning more starts with the way he is playing.

It's nice to have two goalies playing well so Sacco doesn't have to go back to the same guy over and over again if it doesn't work, hoping that he'll start playing well.

Instead of asking where he is, just be glad that he's not posting here anymore and hope that it stays that way. When he posts after Varly lets in 4+ goals, people will be complaining about his trolling again.

Wherever he is, he can stay there. This place has been much better without him.

Varly's been playing great. I really hope he can keep this going consistently. If he can steal a couple more games, the Avs might have a chance.

If by a couple you mean 11 of their last 15 or so

Well I'm hoping the Avs skaters can help win some of those 11, but yea they're gonna have to go on a hell of a streak here.

So uh... is it bad that when I was lurking I'd been hoping for a mod to find a picture of the Harry Potter kids and put "Avada Kedavra" on it and post it to him/her/it/Voldemort and then ban?

Ignoring is probably the best option.

That way (he/she) doesn't start harassing you through PMs every time you say something they disagree with.
