I have a good feeling about tonight.

Has-been boring hockey versus "Ruining the new NHL" boring hockey

Old school takes it

Looking at TB's lineup, I don't see a very good team. They lack depth offensively and their D is rather poor....but I think people say the same thing about our lineup when they see it.

1-3-1 makes any team competitive, especially when Stamkos, St. Louis, and Lecavalier are there

Should be good. I wonder what will happen if the Lightning fall into the 1-3-1 without pressuring tonight just to see how DeBoer handles it.
Take a lead and just sit behind our net for the W!!!

It's like Devils' reunion day here at St. Pete Times Forum. Bobby Holik, Jacques Lemaire and Dave Andreychuk all here.

Again really? I don't remember being on MSG +2 so freaking much this early on. I am thinking the
Islanders got to Dolan. LOL

MSG should make a third HD channel and just not share it. That will stick it to Verizon. If only the Devils were on the YES network then it be HD all the time! And they can hire their own crew for game days.

We're good offensively... our defense sucks though

Good luck, we usually play bad against the devils but this season we're great at home so I don't know what to expect

Good luck tonight, i'm pretty sure we're wearing our thirds from last season tonight so maybe the haters will think last year's team is back when they didn't care we ran a 1-3-1

Don't listen to the haters. If it wins games then who cares and Devils should know best. LOL

I'm sure we won't do what those Philly clowns did.

I agree. I'd like to see Kovy simplify his game and just rip it on net more often.

Trust me, Devils fans sympathise with you for the hate you're getting for the 1-3-1. It's as if trap was suddenly made a dirty word. It's a perfectly valid strategy.

As soon as the puck is dropped, how funny would it be if both teams just retreated to their own zone?

Lets go Devils!

Some quotes:
Quote:
Tedenby thinks watching a game can be helpful for a player.

“I think you can do that,” he said. “I was kind of in this situation last year too. I was scratched a couple games and I was looking and when I came back I knew exactly what to do. So, I don’t take it negative. It’s positive.”
Quote:
“Jacques sees them a lot,” DeBoer said. “I’m actually spending some time with him here this morning. He lives right up the road and he’s seen them quite a bit, so he’s always a guy that I like to pick his brain, not just on Tampa, but on hockey in general.”
Good to see Teddy being positive and DeBoer going to Lemaire for advice.

When I met him during the WCH I told him to keep working hard. And he does. Atta boy Teddy, you`ll get your minutes, don`t worry.
