Yeah I completely agree. It's almost like we should just play our normal defensive game, stall, and then ride Pekka in the shootout. You have to think our chances are better in a shootout with the best goalie in the world as opposed to a 4-4 run and gun game.

Probably one of the worst games of the year for Peks too. Maybe he needs a little bit of a break.

ok so this marks the death of the pre-game day GDTs. I say Kiraly has the right of first refusal for the next one since we got a point, but start it on the actual game day

Actually, I don't care. I'm not superstitious

Klein once again. He screens Rinne on the gw and on the Prospal goal he lost him and had time to recover but failed to check him and let Prospal backhand the puck into the net

Klein has had an up and down season...

I usually defend the guy because he is a good player, but he needs to stop watching his breakfast digest and start playing hockey

Just got back. Disappointing. Not frustrating, just disappointing. 40+ mimutes of going through the motions. Klein and Suter with noticably poor games from my perspective. Pedestrian from the rest. Legwand should send himself to Milwaukee if he needs to knock the rust off - he needs to be Preds-ready if he wants back in the lineup; his return was a disruptive/destructive element tonight.

Bugs deserved the 2 points, we didn't deserve the 1.

Didn't deserve the W is correct!! PREDS looked very, very, very, very SOFT on all fronts- this team in the playoffs will get beaten up badly. Other than Batman and Robin, the defensive pairings just can't contribute ANYTHING. Where was the same offensive effort in the first two periods that was seen in the final 10 minutes?? Crowd didn't supply their best efforts either- those 3 bus loads of fans kept their noise going the full 60, UNLIKE the home folks. GOT TO STEP IT UP TUESDAY NIGHT, GOLD !!!!

Is it bad that I want us to trade for D help so we can replace Klein? He is just a really, really bad player. Every once in awhile he'll surprise me with a good night, but he does more harm than good. I sincerely hope Josi replaces him when healthy, but I wouldn't mind a trade of Klein + a pick for a big veteran presence on the blueline.

Ellis has been dominant wherever he has played and Josi is in his 2nd year in NA. Im confident they would do fine(Better than Hillen at least).

At least call up Bartley!

Weber-Blum
Suter-Ellis
Boullion-Josi

looks a hell of a lot better to me than what we have now. Or you can leave the top pair together and have

Weber-Suter
Blum-Ellis/Josi
Boullion- Josi/Ellis

I think that would be too many rookies out there, if we were to trade Klein, it'd be for some more veteran stability, and not another Hillen.

As stated above, I'd love to get a vet, but our roster with no trade done, just Klein gone, looks, IMO, better than our current one. Anything we get for him is an added bonus.

We'd happily take Klein up here. I'm still not sure how Sanford saved us, but he managed.

That yell of surprised glee y'all heard out of Davidge when Wisniewski scored, by the way? That was because that has never been done by anyone in union blue before.

(Also, hello again. Have been keeping my distance from HFBoards in general because, y'know, every single one of my favorite guys in hockey has sucked of late. It's detrimental to the soul, y'know.)

My fault, the way my schedule works I usually sleep through Preds wins but I was shaking in rage while trying to sleep.

So can Dr. Snot rocketeer write me a prescription for ambien?

I knew someone would mention this and if you noticed on the play, Klein had just taken a puck to his body a few seconds earlier and was still hurting from blocking a shot. Saying guys don't get to their man on a PK is always funny as someone is bound to be out of position, especially one that just got hurt a little bit.

True. Very true.

But.

Klein was pretty awful last night, and it wasn't just in the defensive end. He passed up numerous scoring chances with inconcievable passes. It was not his night. He has clearly taken a step back this year. It reminds me of Hamhuis in his final year here. Mistake after mistake after mistake.

Don't get me wrong, he is making some awful plays back there but he's also part of the success of the team as much as we might not like to say so. I think if he were paired with a left handed shot PMD he'd be a lot more effective. He and Cube are not the best at handling the puck. It would be interesting to see what Josi could do with him, if he can stay healthy long enough to find out.

Klein actually has been good most of the year and I've been happy with his play. However, he was bad last night.

On the tap-in PP goal, he let his man stand right next to the net, out of his reach. Awful. On the last goal, sure, maybe he had just blocked a shot and was hurting, but it's overtime. He has to block the shot when he has his goalie screened.

It wasn't the best of games for #20 either, although as mentioned before, his hooking penalty was about as bogus as you can get. Also, has the Cube EVER scored a goal that wasn't a tap in during his career????
