A few milestones reached yesterday: Marian Hossa scored his 400th goal in Chicago's win over NYI and José Théodore celebrated his 600th game with a shutout against Boston.

Yep.. Not sure why they would do this other than hoping he gets back to form since Markov is pretty much done

Oh and I am sure this will spark up the old rumor mill about us trying to land Weber or Suter...

This will fill an important gap for Carolina on their IR list. Spacek is so fragile, he'll probably get injured clearing customs.

If we cant get Suter or Weber, i'd consider going after Beauchemin or Lydman if the price isnt ridiculous

I'm unsure of Beauchemin, when I watch him play in Anaheim he seems to give it his all...when i've seen him elsewhere it wasn't the case.

Starting to look like Crosby will be out longer with his "symptoms". It will be a damn shame if he is the next Lindros.

i hate seeing a guy's career ended or compromised by injury but I wouldn't feel as bad after sitting with Pens fans when Lindros was crushed by Darius. The fans and players were laughing and high fiving. I would love to see karma strike.

Spacek isn't exactly stellar anymore and has a pretty hefty pay check as well (while always being injured). He had a pretty good start to his Carolina career tonight however, two assists. It's still a bit strange that they looked to Kaberle. With guys like Diaz and Weber on the blueline already, that is not the type of defender they need really.

Kaberle was called out pretty badly by the 'Canes GM awhile back, not that often a GM is so outspoken about his players, said that he came to camp unprepared having enjoyed celebrating winning the cup a little too much.

Also, for a guy that refused to waive his NMC for so long (remember the Carter and a 1st for Kaberle?) Kaberle is now on his fourth team in less than a year.

Yeah. It becomes tiresome with all the attention given to Crosby, when I'm watching a game that doesn't feature the Pens somehow he's still mentioned two times per period, but it would suck if his career would end/derail like this. He is the best player in the game, there is no denying that.

I didn't think this needed its own thread, but PK Subban will be RFA this offseason, any interest in an offer sheet? I assume the Habs would match anything that was offered and I doubt the offer would be too extreme, but do you think it would be worth a shot? He's the kind of player that I hate the Flyers playing against but would love him on this team. Or maybe even trading for him at the deadline? I'm not saying we should or even could do this, but I am bored in the library studying for finals.

P.K. Subban might be one of the most over rated players in the league, and I think this is because he plays in Montreal. He makes horrible decisions with the puck and turns the puck over way too much. He has 28 turnovers this year. If people hate Carle then the frustration with P.K. would even be double that. Of course matt Carle has 24 turnovers himself lol... I wouldn't want two of the top turnover players on the same team. Offer sheets are rarely done and I don't think the Flyers would look that way.

He's overrated for sure, but he's 22 or 23 years old. His defense and offense should improve. I was assuming Subban would replace Carle since his contract is up. Subban has the offensive upside that Carle does not. I'm curious as to what kind of contract he'll get. He's making under a million this year, but hasn't really done much to earn a significant raise. That's why I think it won't matter anyway because Montreal would likely match whatever offer was submitted unless someone extremely overpaid. I think he would be a good fit here, but I wouldn't do anything extreme to acquire him.

Him being a repeat offender makes the punishment extra harsh, right?

Yeah, but watching the replay its not like he really left his feet for a hit that should be a 10 game suspension..

He left his feet pretty good on the Ponikarovsky hit (that is the one he is suspended for, right?), and more importantly perhaps he went for the head pretty badly on it.
Edit: He got 8 games apparently.

In other news, Kaberle answered Spacek's two assists with two of his own when Habs beat Devils 2-1
