He'll be suspended just in time for all the Carcillo jerseys to come out of the woodwork on Thursday.

Some people are speculating that Carcillo injury could be season ending

MRI is today so that is probably just baseless speculation

I really like Gorges, and if he hadn't re-signed with the Habs he would have been my prefered consolation prize if we can't land Suter in the summer... but that is a long time for a guy that blocks as many shots as he does (and doesn't offer that much offensively). Hopefully for them he won't wear down.

Chicago Blackhawks forward Dan Carcillo has been suspended indefinitely pending a hearing with the Department of Player Safety regarding his hit on Edmonton’s Tom Gilbert Monday night.

The incident in question occurred during the second period when Carcillo and Gilbert were chasing a puck into the Oilers’ zone and Carcillo checked Gilbert into the boards. Gilbert was injured on the play and is expected to miss Tuesday night’s game against Buffalo with a lower-body injury. Carcillo also appeared to be hurt on the play.

....holy ****, indefinitely?

I'm going to guess it's related to his injury...otherwise couldn't they have kept him as a scratch to serve his suspension and heal at once? If that's possible, then my guess is the NHL wanted to prevent that from happening, so they're going to wait until he's healthy and hold him out a few games.

That probably means it's an in-person hearing, which he may waive his right to, and won't be done before the next game. Chicago might have people hurt, so they need to be able to make a move.

Like I've said in the past, Carcillo's act will take years to shake, and multiple teams playing with new teammates he's previously pissed off to shake it.

It has nothing to do with him being injured. It'll be an in person hearing, which he can waive his right to appear. Other players have been suspended indefinitely this year.

he had stretches where he played hard, and playing well at times while he was in Philly as well. Then he would do something mindblowingly stupid.

Man the Devils got ****** since we eliminated them from the playoffs. After that it seems like its just been downhill. If Parise leaves they don't have a great future.
