If you are suggesting Phoenix would be willing to trade Turris for Filatov (plus), my question is, Why would Phoenix do this considering the potential for him being a flight risk?
Given the current circumstances, Phoenix is in complete control of the Turris situation. If the reports are close to accurate, several teams are looking to acquire him,. So if Ottawa is a serious contender for Turris, then Filatov isn't part of the package.
How much is Turris really worth? Filatov +? Not sure Turris is worth a whole lot except in the eyes of the Pheonix GM.
What do Phoenix want? A Turris replacement? a 2nd line centre? I would keep mine if I had one.
Nothing, i said if anybody made a link between Turris' dead line of December 1st and Murray giving Filatov another 2 weeks before they talk again. Which is close to December 1st.
Let's face it, the only point of acquiring Turris (in my mind) is if we could get him for cheap.
There shouldn't, nor do I think there is, a bunch of teams lining up for his services.
I think there is a bunch of teams trying to get his services for very cheap like you said. Filatov's trade probably setup the type of return you get: 3rd round pick and change or something of similar value.
Right now, I don`t really want to trade anyone from our roster, not until January
According to TSN, Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Ottawa were in the hunt for Turris.
Ha... and what would you sacrife for Turris? Da Costa and Foligno so that Phoenix would agree with this deal? Because Turris has a value /whether it is right is another thread/. Or Maloney can say Turris either resign with Yotes or by by season... you (Turris) can play KHL but not NHL this year.

I just don't think he's a good soldier. We have had enough experience with that type of attitude here in Ottawa to know to stay the hell away from him. I've said it elsewhere, but I think Mr. Melnyk deserves at least two home play-off games to make a little bit of (relatively speaking) unexpected money.
Anyone who is calling for us to tank this year obviously doesn't know a think about fostering a winning culture and group psychology (thankfully the tankers have been pretty quiet so far.)
Turris is going to be the NHL poster child. He is RFA and wants to negotiate like a UFA. Pheonix is controlled by the NHL and not way Bettman caves in this one.

The team is playing good thus far, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Leave the team as is.

Exhibit A as to how hockey doesn't matter on ESPN:
Last night an ESPN program was discussing how the Detroit Pistons needed a hero citing the heroes on the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and no mention of the Detroit Red Wings. All this despite the Red Wings probably being the most succesful team in Detroit right now.
Well, seeing as he hasn't been traded yet, that probably means that no one offered much, or that Phoenix wants way too much.
Knowing that four teams (all Canadian for some reason) are interested, could just means there are four vultures trying to get a free meal.
If you look at the Heatley and Filatov deal, Turris is worth very little. No GM is going to throw out more than a second round pick and their problem contract for the guy. I'd stand firm too, sign the kid then flip him when his value is much better. If he doesn't sign, wish him the best of luck in the KHL.
THERE IS NO WAY he signed for so little to stay in Phoenix. There HAS to be a trade in the works.
I dunno, I can see Turris just finally having come to his senses. With the NHL operating the coyotes I never saw much chance of him actually having his demands met. It wasn't a fight he could win right from the start.
The Healthy Scratches have talked about this at length and it makes a lot of sense. There is always the option for him to get traded down the line, and I'm usre the Coyotes would like to move him since he doesn't want to be there. But the best way for the team to get fair value is for Turris to play well, and not hold his team ransom ala heatley.
