Also, does anyone know why Mike Richards wasn't playing tonight?

Richards is suspended for two games following a verbal attack of an official vs. the Windsor Spitfires. I believe it had something to do with Richards being penalized for sucker punching a Spitfire player that was in the penalty box.

Ruzicka held to just one assist, he missed a glorious chance in the first and was hauled down in the OT period, without a penalty. Looks like the Whaler's don't like him much, check this out.

SLAPSHOTS: C Patrick Jarrett was injured on a check from behind. He’s not believed to have a concussion, but was kept out of the third period as a precaution . . . D Andrej Sekera is close to returning . . . Plymouth RW Jonas Fielder, a Czech, was assessed a gross misconduct for directing a racial comment towards Attack LW Stefan Ruzicka, a Slovak.

Remind you at all of last year when Rosey played Plymouth?

Mike Richards has a hat-trick ( ) through two periods after serving his two games for verbal assault of an official.

In other prospect news, Jonas Fiedler, who made an ethnically motivated comment towards our prospect Stefan Ruzicka, was suspended five games.

Yesterday, David Laliberte picked up 2 goals and 2 assists, while being named the first star of his game. Also from the Q, defenseman Alexandre Picard had a goal.

From the Dub, Ladislav Scurko had the game winning goal and an assist, while also being named the first star of his game.

Ryan Potulny continues to lead his league in goalscoring as he scored two last night, including the gamewinner.

He got the first star....... and got hit in the mouth with the puck again, missing most of the second period.

Of Richards 3 goals, he had 2 PP and a SH. Jeff Carter had the lone goal in SSM's 3-1 loss.

This might not even be the right thread to post on but what the hell. Does anyone know if Ben Eager was a healthy scrath for the Phantoms vs. Bruins game?

I believe Eager was injured in the Friday night game against Bridgeport.

Carter has 3 goals and an assist so far against Saginaw, but not a final yet according to the OHL website. Ruzicka had a goal and an assist in a win over the Belleville Bulls.

Laliberte, Pisellini and Beauchemin also in action tonight.

Pisellini had his big rematch with Scott Todd today. Seems like it was pretty even till Todd got the edge with Gino gettin caught up in his jersey. Afterwards, Gino was in a lot of pain appararntly. He's been having a lot of problems with his hands.

Richards and Carter are playing the OHL vs Russia game - nice to see them together on a powerplay!

Ryan Potulny also scored two goals tonight. He got the game winner in a 5-1 victory over Rangers' top prospect Alvaro Montoya's Michigan team.

I got to watch the Minnesota game and Potulny tonight. He scored 2 goals in about 28 seconds before the game was even 5 minutes old. Both his goals came on a long rebound, but he made the play happen on the first goal by making a move and getting a quality first shot on goal. Minnesota really took it to the Wolverines. It was 4-0 by the end of the first.

I'll probably get to see him again in tomorrow night's game.

Kevin Romy is having a solid start in the Swiss elite league, he has 9 goals and 7 assists in 24 games. Considering the fact that he has limited ice time on the PP, it is rather impressive. He is the best Swiss scorer on the team, and he is just behind Andreas Johansson and Michal Grosek. I'd love to see how he adapts to the North American game, hopefully next season. Could turn out to be more than just a decent prospect. Keep an eye on him at the next WJC...

Who is Kevin Romy, I thought he was a 3 or a 4?

A Swiss prospect, born in 1985, he was drafted in the 4th round in 2003. He attended last year's development camp, and he was there this year as well. Highly regarded over here, he could possibly make it to the senior national team very soon.

Romy might be a guy like Printz that just comes out of nowhere a few years from now. No one over here really follows him that much, and there's no telling how his skills will translate in NA playing in a league like the Swiss one, but it's good to know he's continually progressing.

Potunly another goal on the power play against MSU. Scramble in front and he chipped at the puck and it found top corner right under the crossbar. It seems every shot he takes is a dangerous one.

Ruzicka had another goal last night for OS. Also, Mike Richards never ceases to amaze. He goes pointless and was -1 in a 4-2 Kitchener loss, only a night after the team scored 12 goals, yet is named the 1ST STAR! How often does a guy go pointless and is named even the 3rd star?
