Good effort tonight, especially with two AHL defenseman.

Whoever the special teams coach is, needs to go. The PP and PK have been ****ing dire. Costing us games right now.

Bryz bailed the team out on a couple of occasions but was decidedly average tonight, Briere was horrendous again, Carle should just leave the club and we should never mention his name again.

JVR was awesome, Lilja sucked as per norm.

Well, unfortunately we never really threatened to come back in the final period. Read and Hartnell was our best players imo overall. JvR deserves mention as well with his goal and assist. Bourdon and Marshall had pretty decent first games in the NHL. If they continue to play like that, we might actually have some depth on d, after all.

This was just one of those games where the opponent is better though. Cam Ward had a great game for them, but a lot of their players had strong games, mostly their more defensive minded players like Larose, Ruutu, Dwyer, Allen, Faulk, Harrison. They made it really difficult for us tonight.

Absolutely pathetic

I didn't see more than 4 or 5 clean passes all game from our side.

Everyone looks like theyre trying to score goals, but no one looks like they're making an effort to sync up with anyone else. Defense was AWFUL positionally, especially on the PK, and if pronger was playing that 2nd ponikarovsky goal never happens.

Just a terrible effort, we're they even playing a system tonight, or we're they just skating around, doing whatever?

Yeah you pretty much have to avoid any sports highlight related show for about a week and a half, it's going to be the worst

The PK has been good this year. PP doesn't look consistent without Jagr and Pronger.

There was an awful lot of good things in that loss.

1. Team didn't give up. Lot of energy, skated well all night.
2. JvR's wake up game.
3. Both rookies played well and we might have better depth at "D" than anyone realized.
4. Good 3rd period by Bryz. Looked focused and competitive.

Complete failing grade for the special teams tonight. They'll be better days.

My man.. our special teams are fine. We were great on PK until a few games ago. We scored some PP goals too this and previous game. We take way too many lazy penalties in every freaking game. Hartnell basically said **** you to PP today in the end of 1st, Simmonds took another penalty o-sive zone for no reason and then Mesz was pinching and not watching his stick.

Bryz has not stole a single game for this club yet.

I like the guy, but that needs to be said

Sometimes a goalie just beats you.

Not a Flyers goalie, obviously. I mean goalies in general.

Bryzgalov was .94 - .95 in last 6 games. Today he was average.

Lavi should of played him against Jets when he was hot.

I give the majority of the guys credit for at least for giving energy the whole game, last year in the second half tumble, they would have gotten destroyed and coast most of the game. D was terrible tonight, but that is to be expected. Briere has been pretty much useless the entire season, Carle is still terrible and it just becomes so apparent when Pronger isn't right next to him. Read is just a beast, and JVR/Voracek/Simmonds I thought played well. I don't think I heard Couturier's name once tonight. Brzy made some big saves, let in a few iffy ones, but once again the guys in front of him need to step up.

Yeah Couturier was terrible tonight. I was more impressed with Rinaldo tonight then him. Bourdon and Marshall were a pleasant surprise, Bourdon especially.

Lavy gives Couts that vet to play with and failed. Maybe send him to pressbox and try someone else who can bring more and keep up with Shelleys skill and awesomeness. If you can't play with a million dollar talent like him, I say bust ??

Well, I just finished the game.

-JVR had a good night. If he can start doing that more often he'd be a force.

-The Replacements weren't terrible

-Briere started off looking good, and got progressively worse as the game went on. It got to the point where I felt sad every time I saw him with the puck. That should not be.

-Bryz had a couple good stops, lost his damned mind on the 4th goal, and overall was average. Like Briere, he needs to be better. He should have had the Skinner goal as well, he wasn't on the post like he should have been.

-Shelley didn't lose a fight

-Overall effort wasn't bad at all. Ward was just very good. Bryz could have been the difference but he wasn't. This is exactly the sort of game where Bryz is supposed to be earning his enormous contract. He didn't. He hasn't all year, really. When the team has been good enough to win, he hasn't blown it...when the team hasn't been good enough, he hasn't bailed them out. He isn't being paid to just be adequate/not blow it. It would have been nice to see him allow two less goals and get us at least a point. Edit: hell, the same can be said for Briere on offense.

-Giroux was Giroux

Am I the only one that saw a terrible effort tonight? Apart from Read, JVR, Giroux and to a lesser degree Hartnell, there was a lack of hunger. Actually, I thought Lilja played a decent, solid game. Can't say the same about Meszaros and Carle. These guys are absolutely horrid in defensive coverage.
Seriously, as the rest of the teams are getting better and getting chemistry, the Flyers are falling apart. It will be a struggle to even get the 8th seed, especially if Pronger gets injured again later.

You have to wonder if Briere's age is catching up with him. He is a defensive liability and he's taking way too many penalties and with him not putting up the points, he's better off getting minimal ice time.

this team def. seems built to have all its main members healthy and playing or its all bets are off

just an ugly ugly game to sit throu

weirdly it seems Lavi got the goalie rotation backwards Bobo should have gotten this game and Bryz the Jets

whateva, bring on the next game i guess
