Desharnais over plekanec on the first wave....really??

it should be cams pleks cole markov subban and they should stay on atleast 1:20...

thats how the pp is gonna improve...martin has to stop trying to balance the two units...put all your best players on the first unit...anyway im not surprised one bit

No no relax. Plek's isn't even that big of a playmaker.

Usually a team falters when a big player comes back because they all expect them to carry the load...

It's a great day! Been waiting for this for awhile now...Markov's always been my fav player, can't wait to see him on the ice

It'll be interesting to see how they deploy the PP with Markov/Subban on the point...i'm not sure they'll have success unless they deploy an umbrella formation with Subban at the top.

Huge Price backer. Me and 3 others.

Stylistic wise, Pleks isn't that much of a better playmaker than DD. He's a two way beast for sure, dependable and will always make the right play. But when's the last time he's wowed you with a super silck pass?

In terms of styles of play, DD is more of a playmaker than Pleka who should be considered more like a two way forward.

Yes, you are right, he isn't that much better.. I might have exaggerated a little. But, keeping Desharnais on the PP instead of Plex because he might have better playmaking (which I think is not the case) is just not fair if you take into consideration how Pleks has more experience and has been the most consistent player during the last 2 years.

The thing I don't get is how Desharnais (an undrafted 25 years old AHL'er) keeps getting so many opportunities... compared to a guy like Eller. Personnally, I think Desharnais has hit a ''plateau'' in terms of skill levels and confidence. I would like to develop Eller's potential (which is way better than Desharnais) instead and if I were the coach, I'd swap him from time to time with Desharnais on the second PP wave.

Why is DD getting priority over Plekanec on the first wave?

Because it's not like the second wave is total ****? They're probably going to try to depend more on point shot on the first wave, and more on passes and pressure in front of the net on the second wave. Gionta, Kostitsyn and Plekanec is a fearsome trio upfront, it's not like he's playing with Moen and Darche, jesus...

Some people are just grasping at straws big time.

I hope I am wrong but I have a feeling that Plekanec will continue playing on the point with weber on the 2nd PP Wave

1st PP:
Cammalleri-Desharnais-Cole
Subban-Markov

2nd PP:
Kostitsyn-Eller-Gionta
Weber-Plekanec

Again, I hope I am wrong

I'm trying not get my hopes up too high, but ******* this is good news. If Markov can come close to his play of a few years ago, Montreal will be a team to watch.

Good news. Plus for Hamilton it means St-Denis should be back as they sorely need him.

Well, it's good to have good injury announcements these days. Markov will help. I find it hard to believe even with the damaged knee that he isn't better than Diaz & Weber at this point. He's a strong guy too.

Gotta keep the expectations steady. Glad to hear Spacek & Campoli may be close to a return too.

If his knee was damaged he wouldn't even be skating let alone playing in an NHL game. He spent two weeks with world reknoned Dr James Andrews to make sure it was 100%.
