The only thing that bothers me with this whole situation with Markov is:
He asked for the same amount of money, he should of first off gave the team a discounted price for waiting around for him and also with him wanting to finish his career here. We give him the benefit of the doubt he will be welcomed back given 2 major surgeries and not even a discount.
What we signed him to, its like he is just pocketing the money. He just started practicing. Its turning out to be 5.75mill/per for 2.5 years not 3 years. Barring he doesn't get another injury which would reduce his contract to less than 2.5 which it is looking like it could go to if he doesn't hit the ice soon enough.
I know its his career we are talking about so we don't want to rush him, but the guy should of gave the organization some slack too giving him that money under the situation he needed much more time for recovery.
Its been frustrating over the past 2 years. Thing that gets me the most is you bring up Markov whether its with other fans, they write him off. "Markov is back tonight!", "FANS: "doesn't matter he will be out another 5 months". Which could end up being the truth, we don't really know how his leg is, look at last year. It could happen again, not wanting it to but you all have to admit its possible it could take one certain tweak of the knee. Then the fans will really be at Gauthier's throat for sure.
I hope he can stick around this time and prove those type of people wrong.
I want this guy on the team just come on already lets get in the lineup.
The exact same concerns were swirling around Crosby -- he'd never be the same, he'd crumble after the first hit, etc. The Pens organization made absolute sure its star player was at 100% before letting him play, and the kid appears to be back in full force.
I expect the same with Markov. Once he comes back, he'll be at 100%, get two goals in his first game and go on to lead the league in scoring.
He's not with the team, and we won't confirm where he is . what a ****ing joke! fire these clowns
I don't know what's wrong with you guys, but didn't Martin say last week that Markov will not be playing on the Californian road trip? How is what we're seeing this week any different from what Martin said last week? Why are you guys freaking out.
RDS never confirmed anything, they said he would play based on speculation on the he was playng the PP in practice.
The habs said last week that he wouldn't play this road trip and he isn't...so what is there to be bothered about. They gave you an update.
This organisation is ruining its reputation with fans.
First Markov is travelling with the team to Cali, then he suddenly disappears, then he was never on the plane to begin with.
This CIA/secrecy policy does not bode well with the fans and this is why people are starting to find alternative sources of entertainment. TV ratings are down, tickets can't sell (re-sale market). Molson better do something to protect his investment.
