You guys are ridiculous. It's a major injury, I'd rather he come back when he's good and ready. Do you morons even think before you fly off the handle?
Markov isn't even affecting the cap, he's on LTIR.
What good is that unless you sign a player like Brian McCabe, you gotta trade assets to replace him now even with cap space when he could have done something over the summer
I cant believe you guys are actually angry about this. I think its great news. Follow Brian Wilde, who shares a similar opinion to mine on twitter.
GO HABS GO
It's 3 years in a row he had major injuries, yet Gauthier's plan B was to sign Campoli with a week left in training camp cause he knew Markov wasn't ready anytime soon and that he had ****ed up!! Well we did get a 5th rounder for Wiz!!!!
I don't know how you translate minor surgery into major surgery honestly. An arthroscopy is a common surgery with basicaly no side-effects after.
Bummer. Again, though, that's not an excuse. The signing was done while knowing full well the risk. And again, the problem is NOT the signing. But it's building a defense that had to be able to overcome better his absence.
There's something that is really puzzling for me. Everybody who saw only tidbits of any practice during last week knew full well the guy is far from ready. I mean, he can't pivot on one side or has all the trouble in the world to do so. I guess surely a Markov at 70% would be better than Weber....but don't you risk way more by making him play at that condition? And you know that the guy will avoid to be hit like there's no tomorrow.

Think of the season ticket holders that are paying his salary.
That's not the point. The point is that he had absolutely no backup plan and now we're stuck with a hideously depleted defence. This whole situation is just sickening...
You can't plan the injuries to Spacek and Campoli too.....

When we're talking about two different major surgeries on two ligaments on the same knee, then a couple of minor operations to "clean debris", combined with extensive time missed, it is worrisome.
Anyone who expects him to recover and become the Markov of old is delusional. Yes, he still might be good, but he will never be the same.
I guess it's not as bad as people think, It's just another one to make sure, they learned from their lessons, we would all go crazy if he came back in december and got injured again.
Pierre Gauthier: "Markov's knee is almost at full strength. He's undergoing arthroscopic surgery to clean up debris."
People are so quick to assume the worst. So he'll be back around New Year's. Big deal.

Gauthier said at the golf tournament "he shouldn't miss too many games". Now we're looking at half the season without a #1 defenseman and powerplay quarterback and we're supposed to not assume the worst?

Lol, "Markov should be back soon, shouldn't miss too many games."
He's missed already a quarter of the season, and at least 3 more weeks. At this point, considering the past history, I'd say the 3 weeks is a pretty generous outlook.
