Why do NFL and MLB teams send their players to James Andrews if the Fowler clinic or whatever is better?

The Jays and Athletics Canada all use Fowler. I am sure they do it because no matter what unless you are a UWO athlete they get to walk in and get seen straight away you wait your turn even Stevie Y had to wait his turn. Not to mention in the US they don't have to deal with our medical system and apparent red tape. I am happy to deal with it but I do not think they are.

I was playing with the kids swinging my son around and my foot was planted and my knee twisted and bam torn again.

Believe me I know WIZ is an accident away from another knee injury but he has proven thus far to have been able to avoid it I hope Markov can but I do not see it happening unfortunatly.
i guess my friends and doctors and surgeons i spoke to were all big liars...what a world we live in...

i'm sure there are studies that say that the ligaments are not as strong, and cases were people who have had the surgery are never 100% afterwards, but i'm sure there are studies that state the exact opposite.

as for me i'll take the word of my friends and family that have gone through the surgeries and are better than ever and the word of the doctors/surgeons i spoke with

Unfortunatly no one will ever agree 100% on this issue and especially the DRs.

Thanks for the news. I thought that AK's injury was going to keep him out of the lineup for a game or two but I never thought it would be that long. I can't wait for him to be back and I think that Eller also feels that way.

markov's first surgery was an ACL repair. his second surgery - and this is also what gorges had done, is an ACL replacement. a new one. also what wiz had done a few years back

if he doesn't rush his comeback he probably will feel like his old knee is worst than his new one

Which is what makes the Markov situation so freakish, to have torn it once was freaky enough, but twice?

Was obviously because the initial surgery wasn't successful or that he came back too soon.

Either way, he's taken ample time to heal this time and has gone through a littany of tests to make sure his knee is stable, while this doens't guarantee another re-injury, the odds are unlikely (although, this is the Habs).

Skating vs Running. Which is the most stressful on the Ligament?

Do those total include Gomez?

Because most people on this board would say those are man games won

Any word on AK? I really miss the Moen-Eller-AK trio. His return would really stabilize the top 3 lines.

yeah what happened did Gomez not play at all in the 3rd?

"lower body injury" following his "upper body injury" so he's completely broken now. Nothing against the guy personally but he's lost it hockey-wise. To Hamilton please, Molsons.

Hopefully he can play Friday and take Gomez's spot.

What happens with the cap hit if they send Gomez to Hamilton or buy him out? We can't trade him, he's been mostly ineffective and now he's getting to be injury prone. This can't continue, especially going into next year. It's unlikely any of our centreman prospects will be ready to step into a top 6 role next season. I think we need to make a move at the deadline (if we can afford it). Maybe Stastny or Vermette?

Skating due to the nature of the skating stride running is an up and down motion it is harder on mensicus as the impact is greater but the inherent motion of an outward push puts more strain on ligaments.

In football it's not so much the running it's impact with a ligament that's tensed up.

I believe he will be sent to Alaska to start up a hockey team with Russel Crowe.

Football players tend to use sharp cuts A LOT more than hockey players do...they're knees are alot more at risk than hockey players. Why do you think Gorges has been able to play without an ACL for 7yrs prior to his surgery?

MCL injuries are alot more common with hockey players
