What is the big deal about this 7:30 nonsense?! It's one freaking half hour.

They have more points than us (although we have a game in hand), so nothing to underestimate... Should be a fair fight all around.

7:30 starts only slightly edging out the horrors of Darfur.

Forget Darfur. You want to know what's really horrifying? The possibility of a lockout next year.

UGH. The NHL is really on it's last legs if there is another lockout.

I don't think there will be a lockout. The players, owners, and execs know what a lockout would do to the sport.

However, if somehow there is a lockout, Bettman deserves to be fired on day 1. It would be the third time under his tenure that the league was locked out.

there will be a lockout, if only because the expiry date is 9/15 and the season starts like 2 weeks later. this is an issue.

and no it won't kill anything because it probably won't be a long one, but with no pressure before that date, it's not the best environment to get something done quickly.

CBA expiry should be the last day of the regular season, not 2 1/2 months into the next league year

If there is a lockout it can't be long. Something like what we had in 04/05 did a lot of damage. Even a half season one like 94 isn't good.

Good call about Bettman too. It's gonna be argued it isn't his fault, but since 94 when the first one happened people were pointing fingers at him. Harsh criticism his way. I'm not a fan of Bettman.

Considering the epic gong show that is the NBA lockout, which can only help hockey, that should be a sufficient cautionary tale to get something done quick and without drama in the NHL.

(One hopes.)

I've got my first scrimmage tonight at 6pm which means I'm leaving the rink at 8ish, getting home at 9ish, watching the game on DVR, until 1030ish, showering, falling asleep at 11ish, then getting up at 440am the next day for practice.

WIN THIS ****ING GAME DAMMIT

Dmitry Kulikov told SunSentinel DeBoer was too stern: "With Pete it's one mistake and you're like shaking for the rest of the game."

Michal Repik told SunSentinel this about playing for DeBoer: "To go out there you are scared to play; that's not the right thing for us..."
