I must say I was struck by the phrase in bold.

For a little perspective, Mark Recchi played his first game in 1988. The 80's were not really that long ago.

For some of us it is a lifetime I was just a few months old when Mark Recchi would have played his first game in the NHL haha.

Dubnyk should be getting a couple starts here soon as we have two back-to-backs this week, thinking he starts in Dallas.

Teams that are struggling always look for a team to come in that they figure might get them started again. Boston wasn't playing up to par before the oil came in . They weren't playing bad but they were sure playing below potential. Then the Oil came in and they went on a tear. I don't think Dallas has that potential but they have SOUR-ray and 3 pesky forwards that are going to drive the Oil nuts. I'm hoping for at least a point.

I'm hoping they run with the same lines as last game:

Smyth - RNH - Eberle
Hall - Gagner - Hemsky
Lander - Horcoff - Jones
Paajarvi - Belanger - Eager

I'm hoping that they at least try PRV on an offensive line. Especially since we have players that can easily move around the line up like Jones who performs whereever he plays. It won't hurt the defence and I still think he can break through his slump.

What you say is true about struggling teams. But Boston had been playing better before the Oilers came to town. In fact the Oiler game was their fourth win in a row and they scored 24 goals in that stretch.

THe OIlers actually played some pretty hot teams of late.

Uh, the GDT leaves a lot to be desired but i digress.

What is this about Paajarvi playing with Hemsky? Is Renney breaking up Hall and Hemsky and if so, that would be really dumb after it clearly worked in the last game.

I feel good about this game, i think that the Oilers can really take advantage of Dallas's D and put up some big numbers up again although who knows since Dallas has always had the Oilers number at home and the Oilers have had a habit of surprising us this season whether it be good or bad.
Hopefully Renney keeps the lines from the last game together.

did it work though? hall 2pp goals and one from rnh
hemsky 1 unassisted goal
maybe keep them on the pp together as that seemed to click but 5 vs 5 was meh for me hall blowing past ppl looking around seeing no one then turning it over, might as well try mps on halls right and see what happens

I thought that Hall and Hemsky looked dangerous 5 on 5 as well, they seemed to work pretty well together so i would like to see if they can build on that chemistry. If they can, that will give the Oilers 2 dangerous scoring lines along with the Smyth-RNH-Eberle line which seems to click perfectly. We haven't had 2 legit scoring lines in years.

Can't be working my magic all the time.

I wouldnt freak out about the lines, they're likely erroneous and I assume we'll see the same lines that started last game together for this one, unless Petrell subs in somewhere, but I think we'll keep Eager around in case Souray has some hard feelings he wants to introduce the kids too. In which case Eager can introduce his elbow to Benn and Souray can break his hand on Eagers face.

Sorry Eager.

Surprise prediction... Hordichuk draws into the lineup.

Coming off the biggest win in modern Oilers History, the Young Guns, will hit the road and try and continue their success against the Dallas Stars.

The Oilers who are currently tied for 8th place with the Blues, have put together a top line of Smyth Hopkins and Eberle, and it payed huge dividends for them against one of the best teams in the league against Chicago. It has also opened up more space for Taylor Hall who recorded his second career Hat Trick in the last game. The Oilers power play was kicking in high gear once more as they made the Chicago goalies look stupid. Teddy Peckman is once against proving his dominance by protecting his young forwards and making handy work of Dan the Man Carcillo who was hanging on for dear life and did not get in one shot in the late stages of the game. Tom Gilbert played over 25 Minutes last game and will be relied upon heavily again tonight. Smyth and Hopkins each have 19th points. Look for Paajarvi to break out as he will be playing with Hemsky.

Smyth Hopkins Eberle
Hall Horcoff Jones
Paajarvi Gagner Hemsky
Lander Belanger Eager

Smid Gilbert
Peckham Petry
Chorney Tubert

Khabibulin

Dallas has been sucking donkey as of the last five games powered by the weak and flailing greasy hair of once broken and sullen ex oiler Sheldon Souray. His on ice attitude has led him to burn out only 20 games in to the season. His wife has been spotted in public with former Home Alone star Mcauley Culkin leading speculators to believe that he will be seeking assistance from the love guru to get his game back. Dallas is currently tied with Edmonton and St. Louis for 8th in the West. Hopefully Souray puts some clothes on when he gets out of the shower and Ethan Moreau is nowhere to be seen before the press comes in to the room to take pictures after the game.

Morrow Ribiero Eriksson
Benn Ryder Ott
Fiddler Peterson Dvorak
Nystrom Dowell Wandell

Souray Robidas
Daley Grossman
Pardy

Look for Souray to get some revenge tonight

Who wrote this up for you, your little brother? At least, for your sake, I hope that's the case. A 5 year old sabatoged your GDT.

I wouldn't have a problem if Petrell subbed in for Eager on the Paajarvi/Belanger line.

They wouldn't create much offense(when have they?), but that'd be a solid shutdown line. I'd say Petrell deserves a bump up to the 3rd line even for one game.

Personally I don't see any changes for this game, unless a vet is returning from injury (Whitney). The just won 9-2, so I doubt Renney screws around with that formula the very next game. Why would you?

Obvously they did well last game, but would it really hurt our team to swap out one of our more lackadaisical players for our most consistent player?

Shark fans are actually pretty level headed people in the game. At least they don't go overboard like all of us Canadians on their team. Plus their fan base is pretty big.

Except hasn't Eager decided his game is far too multi-dimensional to go out there and agitate, hit and maybe fight?

this game scares me for some reason.
